Former New York Times reporter Judith Miller will join Fox News as a commentator on free speech issues, as well as those pertaining to foreign policy and national security.

"I get to spout my views, I will NOT be joining the news team," she stressed. "I care about First Amendment issues and free speech and I will talk about that and foreign policy if and when we ever stop talking about the economy, which is going to be going on for a while."

    And next month, Father Guido Sarducci will offer commentaries on marital problems & birth control.

    Then in December, Gov. Sarah Palin will offer short segments on adolescent sex education & endangered species legislation.

    After Barack Obama's inauguration in January, Sen. McCain will present a weekly comment on how he would've done things if the election had been fair & square, a sort of "Fox-psyop-ed" with some rightwingnut harmony by the Fantasy Conservative team at Murdoch's Palace of Hacktastic Has-Beenz, Never Was-ez, & GOP Retreads.  The place looks like a re-employment haven for burned out chickenhawks.

    Heads up: look for the Ron Paul show in early Spring.

    Yes, I'm sure what the founders had in mind when they crafted the First Amendment was that reporters would have the freedom to be the conduits of propoganda from high-ranking government officials to the masses.  Give me a break.

    I didn't think that Fox News believed in free speech.  As the ideological water carriers of the Bush Administration, didn't Ari Fletcher all remind us in one of his press breifings that we need to "be careful what you say"?

    I vividly remember all the screeching about freedom of the press when Judith Miller was thrown in jail, because how dare you upset the cozy relationship between "journalists" and those in power who feed them propaganda to transcribe.

    Judith's attention to free speech rights is likely Fox getting ready to fight The Fairness Doctrine that threatens the right wing propaganda machine.  She will be all over the place with "power, experience and rights rights  rights...to lie some more and call it free speech. A Maverick too?
