Sen. Hillary Clinton turned 61 today. She spent the day in Chicago.

She attended a fundraiser brunch for Sen. Barack Obama and an AIPAC conference and then visited with friends.

    It is not only Hillary's birthday today (it is also my 61st birthday as well), but I understand that it is also the birthday of Madelyn Dunham, Obama's grandmother.

    So, for all of you wonderful Scorpios out there celebrating a birthday on October 26th, Chronia Polla (Greek for Many Years).

    Dear Lady.
    You should have been the Democratic candidate. You would have been able to do so much for the country. You actually care about the people who don't have all the benefits of riches. You do feel their pain. You have no other consideration than what is best for the country and its people. The terrible things that have been said about you must pierce your heart.
    I applaud your fight on behalf of women everywhere. Unfortunately, those who do not want women to succeed have made the fight for women's rights more difficult. Poor Sarah takes over the hate from you - the hate of people who do not want to see any woman succeed.
    I cry for you and Sarah. The hate towards any woman who aspires to power that has always belonged to men is dreadful. Even some insecure women hate you. It doesn't matter whether you are Democratic or Republican. Hate.
    I am a 70 year old woman. Through most of my life I have been treated as a second-rate person. In my marriage, at work, wherever I went. My life was only valid if I pleased men who were not nearly as smart or hard-working or loving as I was.
    Now ---- I applaud Hillary and Sarah. Women who have so much more courage than I have. So much more understanding of the world and their own worth.
    Hillary, only what you know is right. Don't give another speech for Obama. You know that he will never do anything to promote women's rights. You know that he has separated the races and promoted racial tension. You know that he doesn't promote women's issues. You know that he will be a lousy president.
    As tears roll down my cheeks - happy birthday, dear lady. I will try to forget what could have been.

    ....of what you speak Re: our "birthday girl," and as Hill's Official NY Surrogate, I have been authorized to send you a Giant Hug (####,) Kiss (***,) and, of course, a little Pinch (pppp,) to remind you that Hillary's vocabulary does not include the word, "despair,"

    If Karma teaches us "what goes around, comes around," or, as my sainted, Cossack mother used to say, "nothing bad comes from doing good," then Senator Clinton's place in history (and Heaven) is secure.

    I try to live by the credo, and while I know Hillary didn't author it, she might as well have, "what doesn't kill ya, makes ya stronger."

    what a message a strong woman leader of this country would have sent to all of the women of the world. Women in 2nd and third world countries would have had such an advocate.   And Hillary was a light for the aspirations of all of the women of the world. I am truly heartbroken about the party's abandoment of her.  I don't think the Democrats will have a woman leader for a long time.  It may well be the GOP picks the first female president after all and unfortunately not the kind we could have had with her at the helm.
