It's sad to me that this site, which I found because of my passion for the rights of the accused, doesn't seem to get many comments at all anymore on cases like this.

This case is one of the most shocking cases of false confessions being used to convict many innocent people.

Does anyone around here (besides Jeralyn and TChris) care?

One of the falsely convicted men is a former student and paper boy of mine.  Daniel Williams was a student of mine in Owosso High School, Owosso, Michigan.Daniel is a classic example of someone who could be intimidated into making such a false confession.  I've had some long talks with his Mom and Dad.  I've written letters to two governors and sent several emails to the legal support groups supposedly trying to help them.  It seems the Innocent Project has taken up their cause and recently it was reported that 32 retired FBI agents also denounced the convictions.  What can we do?  My response from the governor's office was that not all was in the papers.  The problem is that the only way they can get out of jail is for a bunch of politicians to admit they made a mistake.  I'm afraid that is not going to happen.  It is so sad.  I've written letters to Daniel and he is still hopeful.
