JonBenet Ramsey Case Still Rattling Around

Six year old JonBenet Ramsey was killed on Dec. 26, 1996. She'd be 18 today. Her parents, who were mercilessly vilified in the media and the victims of the most obsessive, unfair tarring I can ever recall, were finally absolved by the current D.A this year.

Now, Boulder is getting a new D.A. (Colorado has term limits on district attorneys) and he's promising to re-evaluate what to do with the case, perhaps sending it back to the police.

What to do with it? Close it. Get over it. The Boulder police will forever be tarnished by their handling of the case, there's no reason to give them another chance. Absent a DNA match or a valid confession, it's history.

At least six college-aged women have been assaulted in the University Hill and Gross-Grove areas since Halloween. Four were sexually assaulted, said Boulder police spokeswoman Sarah Huntley. All of the victims were college-aged women who were attacked by a stranger.

Citizens have formed patrols so women can walk the streets safely at night. And the incoming DA is worried about the JonBenet Ramsey case?

Most successful rapists (ick) attack women in their own homes, or in the case of a local one this year, brought the women to him. (He was attacking prostitutes and call girls.)

That's a strange and risky MO. I'm worried he might escalate.

no physical evidence that would eventually turn up a DNA match? What a fiasco. There was also a case in Florida where a little girl was held captive in a trailer across the road from her grandparents house while the police ran around the woods never once insisting on searches of the neighboring homes. She was buried alive. It was so horrific. the guy who did it was a known sexual deviate living with relatives who were not exactly the upright kind. Shoddy police work.

sworn affidavits containing enough factual allegations to persuade a judge to issue a search warrant for those residences in the neighborhood. Doesn't sound like the FL law enforcement officers could have met that burden.

You make it sound pretty cut and dried. I don't think they even had neighborhood characters on their radar. A visiting detective said that good police work could have "convinced the neighbors to open their homes" to their officers. At least a good door to door investigation could have provided information about the people who lived in that house. They were known to be be 'bad apples."

I am sorry, they should never forget about this case.
Somewhere out there, the murder of a little girl is walking free. The cops should never forget until the killer is caught.

After sending intent to kill children emails to investigators on Christmas day, Karr the pervert is back in the US believed to have shelter or support on Long Island, Mount Joy area of Pensylvania and even possibly the Denver Boulder areas in addition to his regular haunts in metro Atlanta and north Alabama.
