Hillary, Obama and Edwards on Stephen Colbert Show Tonight

Hillary Clinton will be on the Stephen Colbert show tonight. Michelle Obama was on earlier this week.

If you watch it, let us know what you think.

Update: I just got an e-mail from the Colbert Report. John Edwards and Barack Obama will also make appearances on the show. Edwards will be in person and Obama will appear by satellite.

One of the things I've been getting po'd about is that Obama acts like he is all that. How dare he? His supporters will dismiss it, but I think a lot of people will be offended.

Why knife? He is no one special to be spared scrutiny; after all, he IS running for president of the United States not a popularity contest.

I am very glad that for once, two reporters whom I admire and respect, Gibson and Stephanopoulos, addressed the questions of CHARACTER, TRUTHFULLNESS, and JUDGEMENT which Mr. Obama increasingly is showing a lack of.

He only has himself to blame for the situation he is confronting; his arrogance, unfair play, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and sexist (misogynist would be a better word), demeaning, mockingly scornful personal attacks leveled against Mrs. Clinton, (the Annie Oakley remark to name just one of the many he has said throughout the campaign), demonstrate his cynical, disrespectful view of women. But then again, what can you expect of him when he has grossly disrespected his own grandmother, and MOTHER!

MR. OBAMA DID NOT WIN BY LOSING as has been suggested, HE FLATLY, OUTRIGHT LOST THE DEBATE, LOST MY VOTE (if I ever was tempted to do so if he were the nominee), AND LOST HIS CHANCES OF BEING ELECTED..

If we democrats are to retake the WH, our choice has to be Hillary, no doubt about it.

So guess YOU dont "got it."   SOME Obama supporters are childish and petty about their candidate, but there are plenty of immature comments on this site.  Maybe the Colbert Report wanted both candidates to appear the night after the debate.  Maybe they asked him first. You just jump to the assumption that Obama did something "bad."  Criticize him all you like, he deserves some of it -- but on when he is appearing on the Colbert Report?

For some reason, I enjoy reading many of the comments here even though I support the not-favored candidate.  I do enjoy listening/reading views that are different from mine. Sometimes they go too far or seem, well, childish.  The show was good fun -- both candidates seemed happy and personable.  Too me, who wants a Dem in the White House, that's a good thing.

Just lately, I realized that it could be intentional from both of them.  What do Bush and Obama do answering the question?  For two seconds, they say something pretending to answer the question, then they veer off to some amorphous, very hard to make into a soundbit rambling in which they repeat their themes (hope... change washington... ), remember how many times Bush would use certain phrases close to each other to suggest a connection??

So, after the answer, no one remember anything or can make head or tail of it, but people would say that he was talking mostly about unity... hope ... etc.

I bet you after Bush cleaned Daschle and Kerry's clock and bullied them completely with these tactics, they were awed to meet a democrat who could do the same.  Hey, he is our version of Bush, and we can win!

LOL, some of his fans are too much to take!  As I said elsewhere, they both did fine tonight. And I enjoy seeing them when they seem more relaxed.  Edwards, by the way, was better than both combined!  IMO

I feel annoyed. Hill got like 2 minutes and then the other guy comes on shilling for Obama with the stupid talking points the whole country can remember, "once in a lifetime leader," "inspirational," blah, blah, blah. I thought it was a dick move on Colbert's part, especially since Obama was on later anyways.

Two minutes!  But you know, the take away is her script, b/c it's really funny and memorable, and that is what is being covered.

about the "once in a lifetime" crap that everyone tries to pull when shilling for Obama.

Sorry, no, there will be another time for a more qualified African American to lead the country.  We will be giving up the chance to have a most qualified, intelligent and sharp woman who "was there" during the Civil Rights movement if we screw Hillary this time around.

Thankfully I hear the crowd was with her.

the crowd was not against her. They cheered her, but they went wild everytime Patrick Murphey praised Obama.  And they went even more wild when Obama appeared on the screen that Hillary fixed.  Both Hillary and Obama came off as good sports and funny.

This whole thing is not working out well at all.

I've been singing songs from 'Jesus Christ, Superstar' about this campaign for a while now, so here's what's on my currentplaylist:

I've been very hopeful so far
Now for the first time I thing we're going wrong
    Hurry up and tell me
    this is just a dream
Or could we start again please?

I think you've made your point now
You've even gone a bit too far to get the message home
    Before it gets too frightening
We ought to call a halt
So could we start again, please?
    Could we start again, please?
    Could we start again?

To me, it's an implicit endorsement of Clinton by Edwards.

When he was doing the EdWord, he said (I believe after cracking the joke about Carville) that he would support the candidate that's consistent with "my values"...and in the text box the bullet item was "Universal Healthcare".

And we all know whose issue THAT is, right???
