Blogger Credentials Available for May 31 Hearing

The DNC has blogger credentials available for the May 31 hearing on Florida and Michigan. The hearing is at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.

If you are a lawyer who shares Hillary's view on Florida and Michigan and will be in D.C. that day and would like to live-blog the hearing for TalkLeft, I'll apply for credentials and front page your posts. You can do it anonymously or using your real name (Obviously, the DNC and I will need to know who you are.)

Just e-mail me and if you are a commenter here, let me also know the name you comment under.

The hearing will be telecast on C-SPAN and online and I'm sure BTD and I will be blogging it, but having someone in the room would add a lot of flavor and context to the reporting.

The DNC has a supreme court.

This is gonna be so much fun.

    Let's see if I can find that agenda. (5.00 / 3) (#6)

    Yes, here it is.

    Opening remarks by co-chairs.
    15 minutes to FL
    15 minutes to MI
    15 minutes Clinton campaign
    15 minutes Obama campaign
    Questions
    Break for lunch
    1 minute to read decision
    Closing remarks by co-chairs.

The live blogger should be prepared for a grueling, at least hour-and-half session of work, hard work.

To save time, just ask for a copy of the decision before the meeting, go sit down in the hotel bar, have a couple of drinks & watch C-Span.  I highly recommend the corned beef san with coleslaw.

Now THIS is highly popcornable! (none / 0) (#2)

post during the day, that would be great.  I believe it was andgarden that thought he (I think andgarden is a he) might have the opportunity.

    But he is a wanna-be lawyer. (4.00 / 1) (#5)

if the C-Span telecast will be broadcast live or taped and then shown later? Just curious. Either way, I will be tuning in.

it is an advocacy site. I support Hillary Clinton. I would like the proceedings to be reported accurately and insightfully, but through that lens.

Just as I report criminal law proceedings through the lens of the Constitution and view of the accused.

Just as I will report on the November election through the lens and viewpoint of the Democrats.

We're a blog -- opinion journalists -- not the New York Times.

They're definitely going to be seated. We're not the final decision maker on this. But we've said to the DNC that we want the Florida delegation to be seated, and I'm confident that it's going to be worked out sometime in the next 10 days. I expect that the delegates are going to be participating at the convention.

These weren't rules of my making. We just followed the rules. But Florida is too important to have this linger into the fall. I'm confident in a weeks time this thing will be resolved to the satisfaction of the people of Florida.

    how insulting (5.00 / 3) (#25)
by Jeralyn on Fri May 23, 2008 at 12:58:07 PM EST
he's saying seat them after he's the nominee. They can participate at the August convention but their votes won't determine who the nominee is.

How dismissive. They can sit through hours of party platform discussions and join the rah-rah events but have no say in choosing the nominee.
