Harvey Korman, RIP

All of us old, low information voters remember Harvey Korman. He passed away today. He was 81.

This is not his best scene in Blazing Saddles, a movie I love, but it is funny and somewhat political:

Harrumph! RIP, Harvey Korman.

Here's one of those Carol Burnett Show skits when Tim Conway and Harvey Korman crack each other up:

I loved him on the Carol Burnett Show.  Man I grew up with Harvey Korman.  May he rest...thanks for the awesome laughs and the great memories.  Surely Carol Burnett, Vicki Lawrence, Tim Conway, Lyle Waggoner and Betty White are truly heartbroken this evening.

    Here's a fave of mine: Korman as Rhett Butler (5.00 / 2) (#6)

by BarnBabe on Thu May 29, 2008 at 10:17:11 PM EST
He played Rhett Butler and she wore the drape dress. It was so funny and he just kept breaking up. Loved that. Actually saw Blazing Saddles on a 'date' night when it originally opened. Had me in stiches. He was so good in that when and how it ended was cool. Jumping into a limo and telling the driver to drive him off this movie. And of course, the pie fight. Silly but a good movie and he had great timing. He was always one of my favorites.

Yep, just posted the GWTW scene above (none / 0) (#7)

I just watched both scenes. I also watched that dentist scene posted by BTD and I laughed right along with Harvey. And he did not even have a line. It was pretty funny. We need a laugh and memory once in a while. The Carol Burnett Show was really good. And Vickie Lawrence played Sissy really well too.

was one of a kind.  I understand that Conway deliberately tried to crack Korman up. So sad that so many great entertainers from our younger days (in my 30s then) are passing away. So many great talents. Sometimes it's a bit too much a reminder of passing time.

Happy you loved Blazing Saddles BTD.  Probably one of my 50 or so favorites. The opening scene made me laugh so hard I had trouble stopping. I embarrassed my wife and the people we were with to the extent that they tried to make it look as if they didn't know me.

Those were good days. Thanks for giving us that, Harvey!
