A Narrow Escape

Didn't this happen on an episode of X-Files?

Inmate loses weight, escapes through jail vent

The vent was less than a foot wide. The Sheriff's explanation:

"We just found out he's been slimming down a lot recently"

    As long as he didn't kill anybody... (5.00 / 1) (#3)

...and eat their livers. That was the x-files episode. Actually, there were two episodes. A guy who could stretch his body like a rubber band and travel through ductwork and plumbing to murder people and eat their livers so that he could go into hibernation for 50 years or so. BTW, in case you're wondering... I did that from memory. Until the x-files went completely off the wall with conspiracy nonsense I was a huge fan. As BTD says - if we had lives we wouldn't be here. (that's a joke - I think - right now I'm trying to avoid "life" by not cleaning house even though I have friends coming for dinner tomorrow <sign>)

    Oh, that's the opposite (5.00 / 2) (#4)

of what I do. When I have a deadline for a publisher, I clean my office three, four, or five times before I can finally get myself terrified enough of the impending deadline to sit down and finish the article, chapter, or whatever.

Like you, I was an X-Files fan too right up to probably the end of the sixth season, when they started to get all weird. But, I'm still looking forward to the upcoming 2nd movie.

That was the best part to me! :-)

I like weird. As long as it's not too violent.

tiles, as that would be an enhancement in CA.

That's almost exactly the same thing (none / 0) (#2)

Ted Bundy did from a Colorado prison/jail.

Upon arrest, Bundy was placed in the smaller Glenwood Springs jail, rather than being taken back to Aspen. Somehow he had acquired a hacksaw blade and $500 in cash; he later claimed the blade came from another prison inmate. He sawed through the welds fixing a small metal plate in the ceiling and, after dieting down still further, was able to fit through the hole and access the crawl space above.
