Twenty-Twenty-Twenty Four Hours To Go Open Thread

Look, it's Biden. Ok. It just is. I know, Obama has not said so, but it is Biden.

I can't take it anymore -

Twenty-twenty-twenty four hours to go
I wanna be sedated
Nothin' to do and no where to go-o-oh I wanna be sedated
Just get me to the airport put me on a plane
Hurry hurry hurry before I go insane
I can't control my fingers I can't control my brain
Oh no no no no no

With my son, second child, I had no drugs and knew I wasn't getting any having him in a military hospital.  They were going through this NO DRUGS thing then.  I was fine but he wasn't fine, they had a heck of a time trying to get me to stay put laying down while they attempted to figure out what was going on with him, what a mess and nobody there had any experience dealing with such infants........see, they should have given out the drugs!  They should have started with my husband :)  He was really unhappy and vocal about it!

although my first was a month overdue (I have a health condition that means I can't be dilated).

At least a month overdue by the doc's clock and calendar. I wasn't as sure as you, but I had a much better guess because I used the old wives' tale of counting from the first kick.  (And could he kick.)

But our male OBs and hospitals and nurses must have all taken training at the same place yours did.

The second time around, they took orders from me.  I decided when I would show up, leaving as little time as possible for them to do things to me that would count as torture in humane countries.  I told them that they would administer medications, as I already had the lovely experiences extolled by people without anatomies to get pregnant, etc.

And the main aim worked.  They could hardly wait to discharge me, so I could get back home to a far better ambience.  And a bathtub.

Look, if you look at Obama's comments yesterday about how he tries "to surround [him]self with people who are about getting the job done, and who are not about ego, self-aggrandisement, getting their names in the press", how could he possibly choose Biden?

It would become an immediate joke that he said this. I don't see the Obama team being that dumb. They have to say something at least plausible about the person they selected.

This would bite them in the behind the moment they text the message.

The Obama campaign should have at least short-listed and vetted her, especially since Obama is the one who said she'd be on anybody's short-list. Boy, that comment is going to get a lot of re-play in the media if the VP pick isn't Hillary (and it looks like it won't be). Tonight on CNN, Wolf Blitzer already repeated it during his conversation with Carville. My prediction is that there will be plenty more PUMA-types soon once this gets more airplay.

I believe you may have cracked it!

It forwards to "Page Not Found," but the URL is http://www.barackobama.com/learn/meet_evan.php

I think it's Bayh! Good work on this! Did you just type the URL in at random, or what?

Obamabiden.com, btw, came up empty for me.

As for Bayh, he doesn't suck as much as Hagel or Kaine.  He was, however, one of the principal drafters of the AUMF.  But, hey, now that Hillary's out of the picture, it's time to get over it.

I didn't go looking for meet_hillary.php, or meet_chet.php, or meet_tim.php, but I'd be willing to bet all or some exist.

That'll come up for any .php file that doesn't exist.

You could change it to dazzler.php or marthastewart.php or americaislame.php and you'd get a not found page.

.php is a dynamic web script, and is designed so that ANY incorrect url will keep you on the site itself (barackobama.com), rather than a "404 Not Found" page.

These files don't exist.  It's not like .htm files where you need a physical file for every link.

All "not founds" keep you there.

You're right about that. However, I didn't find it by going to www.barackobama.com/learn/meet_evan.php, I was actually forwarded there by obamabayh.com, as Landuplh above was too. However, as I say, that's now going to some other site, so it looks like a false alarm.

Hmm you're right about that; Chet also exists. However, obamabiden.com is not registered, nor is obamakaine.com, obamaedwards.com, or obamaclinton.com - though I'm sure that surprises none of us.

In answer as to how I found it, I simply typed in 'obamabayh.com' expecting some sort of pro-Bayh site or something, and was surprised to find myself on the real Obama website!

The polls show McCain has a slight lead in IN.

I think IN maybe an ego thing for Obama, since it's a neighboring state.  His campaign has been determined to win it, citing the shared media market with Chicago.

Picking your veep on that is over-the-top, as far as I'm concerned.  This should be a calm, reasoned, rational decision, not based on polls or electoral college maps.

what a perfect song choice BTD, I think you are right and it is Joe. I was so hoping for Hillary in my heart.

Rove was glowing on Faux with Cavuto earlier ruminating on how Hillary supporters feel about her not even being vetted.

He said it was clear Obama had no intention of even considering Hillary when he hired Patti Solis-Doyle.

They are wasting no time on working the party divide. He even said it was like 'salt in the wound'. Good grief.

Way to generate buzz!  Text the kids at the best possible time to find them otherwise occupied.  (Sorry, when I was in BO's demographic, I wouldn't have been near the phone in the wee hours of Saturday morning.)  Do they seriously think the first thing these kids are going to do hungover or dressing sheepishly or what-evah is run to check who Barack's veep is?

Good thing I'm not on the list.  The first thing I do when I wake up is go back to sleep.

I know I'm not supposed to say it but ... I'm so over Obama I don't care who he picks.  Cheney could find a way to nominate himself again and I wouldn't bat an eye.

the Keith rerun at 10.  the intersection of the McCain house story and the stakeouts of everyone you ever heard of and several you haven't has produced a media frenzy that will make anyone smile,  and a lot of us howl and hoot happily, and at least Keith is willing to laugh at himself and all the others. Turn it on and laugh with him. It's a genuine riot, how well it's been played, even before the house, but watching the MSM jump sixty two hurdles and look so amazingly goofy, and then blend in all the staked out houses with the McCain house story is a moment to savor no matter what you think of the candidates. A moment to chill and just wail with free laughter. We can fight again tomorrow.

What candidate could we have that would most let the campaign avoid discussing the only successful Democrat in the last two decades?
