Raw Story has an exclusive interview with Robert Luskin, lawyer for Karl Rove, about Rove's cooperation in the House Judiciary Committee's probe into the prosecution of former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman.

Rove will not rely on (1) a White House claim of immunity for senior advisors to the president, (2) executive privilege or (3) his personal privilege against self-incrimination. He will cooperate with the investigation.

Did Rove get immunity in exchange for his cooperation? Luskin won't answer that one.

Asked if he had a comment on Sen. Patrick Leahy’s (D-VT) proposed “truth commission,” in which Bush officials would be offered immunity in exchange for testimony, Luskin said, “No.”

    Last anyone heard, Mark Corallo was Rove's press agent.  Maybe with Barbara Comstock (they were partners at one time) or maybe not.  Not that Corallo needed any help spinning - he could give Rumplestiltskin a run for the money in that department.

    Is wrangling for a seat in Virginia state politics.

    Barbara Comstock, who ran oppo research for the RNC and chaired Scooter Libby's defense fund, is running for the Virginia House of Delegates, from the Washington DC suburbs, according to a website set up by "Friends of Barbara Comstock".

    I understand it is possible for a President to give a secret presidential pardon before he leaves office. If Bush did that for Rove, then it might explain why Rove now seems so willing to testify and not buck congress. And none of this needs to be disclosed until Rove is actually accused. Maybe even the knowledge that he has such a pardon by the congressional committee would hamper the committee from accusing him. Any insight into these comments?
