Blago Seeks Permission to Travel to Costa Rica to Be in Reality TV Show

Former Ill. Gov. Rod Blagojevich pleaded not guilty today. He is seeking permission to modify his bond to allow him to travel to Costa Rica to appear in an NBC reality show:

NBC said Tuesday it wants the former governor to appear on a show called "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!" pending court approval.

Ten celebrities will be dropped into the Costa Rican jungle "to face challenges designed to test their skills in adapting to the wilderness," a network statement said.

That's one reality show I won't be watching.

when has he ever limited himself to one sentence before squawking?!

I need to learn how to type accents! I had a guy I met in London drop me a line after I got back. I think I still have it somewhere. Written just as he spoke (more cockney) and the same rhythm.

There is an old movie, "The Most Dangerous Game" which describes a bizarre fellow who likes to hunt humans lost on his little island. I can just see Blago climbing trees and hiding in caves.

Perhaps his coiffure will confuse some of the local birds and insects.

This is a reality show I would consider watching.

They've canceled (or are close to) canceling shows I like - hour long dramas, but they'll put on yet another stupid reality show, and give this moron more press!

Seriously?  Does the world NEED another "reality" show?

well they don't have to pay for actors, screen- (none / 0) (#15)

    "Snit Culture" (none / 0) (#18)

Please understand I don't have any political preference in this Blagojevich stuff, actually the reason for me to follow this stuff is to get a good feel for the political culture here in Illinois, Domestically and Internationally. Blagojevich is becoming a Domestic and International figure with this NBC media adventure. Now having a chance, any chance by the powers that be might screw up, or expose them in any slip up by the Attorney Generals Office, or shows the general "Snit Culture" in the core of American Juris Prudence.

Generally speaking, it is all called "Whats in it for me" game playing that is corporate, political, and rampant in the American legal system. Worse it is a compromise with a scaled complicity that has been out of the bounds in respect to the Constitution since the beginning of the last century a La the Jekyll Island Mongols of the Federal Reserve, or the Bretton Woods Pirate system.

The media and the Justice system in this country with their tools of corruption, all college educated and Gaussian bell shaped Juris Prudence has brought us to this point to war and economic tragedy where we are at now second looking to find we simply screwed up so bad life will be hell for all of us if we don't change for the better. So the questions abound like whats a derivative or we are chucking trillions to accounts, bonuses that we do not know who is get money for what reason or why? Nobody is charged for screwing up. Nobody indicted for messing up with trillions of dollars oops. Then charge some guy, a governor, with rampant corruption that is not clearly specified in a complaint for me so funny and ass backward but a huge pain in neck that is a monumental mental legal idiot situation.

For me, any politician, or for that matter any citizen that can get arrested on just a "complaint" is more than curious and a real breaching of the legal structure of our system. More over I always thought one had to be indicted to be arrested or for the actions against the public. Or at some point of respect asked to surrender. Heck if all have to do is make a complaint to get somebody arrested why they don't start with the customer service departments at those banks or any or store. Sheesh.

For me, in comparison Tom Delay was given red carpet treatment for being a smuck always appearing on the Cable news offering his goodness not stepping down from office till he was indicted. I know Blagojevich was impeached, please the Illinois legislature just showed how democratic that it is not with a brief extremely lame one vote of such a pitiful representative. Actually after watch the impeachment presentations most of these so called legislators are a pitiful gang. For me it isn't just Blagojevich these representatives in Illinois and around the country is a pitiful lot easily manipulated by media.

My wonder is whether Blagojevich is in a modern version about the biblical character Barabbas convoluted mixed and simmered through weeks of drama sensation for commercials. We shall see the powerful play in corruption swing in view soon near you. For me any production like this is something if not weird perverted to a new form of cruel and unusual punishment. G.E. might just send the next politician into orbit to test their latest anti-gravity systems.
