NCAA Championship

I'll be rooting for the Spartans of Michigan State tonight to derail the prohibitive favorite, North Carolina. Tipoff is around 9:20 pm.

The game is in Detroit. Michigan deserves some good news. Go Spartans!

If the Spartans lose, they'd better put a suicide watch on the city.

Then again, the paper is only delivered three days a week in Detroit.  They might not even find out what happened.

because I hate UNC (dad went to Duke) and Hansborough is the same player Laettner was, the guy you hate if he doesn't play for you.

    Go Izzo and Go Sparty!

By the way how cool is it that 70,000 people will watch this game

right now about 60,000 of them are sitting on their hands. Of course when your team can't put the ball in the hoop (.308 shooting) and you turn it over to boot...Well!

Interesting stat: Michigan has 12 of 16 players from Michigan or neighboring Ohio. Clearly a regionally recruited team.

UNC has 6 of 17 players from NC or neighboring states. Clearly a nationally recruited team.

There is the difference. Local Boys vs. The Hired Guns.

MSU will make a run and the crowd will get back into it.  Speaking of the crown, really impressive turnout.  NCAA got everything they wanted out of this final four.

Sweet Jeebus, I've got to "upgrade" my browser with a new player from Microsoft? No thanks. Not that I'm on a "supported platform" anyhow.

NOTE Look! Microsoft is trying the extract rent from me! Isn't that adorable?

I think you can get those pretty much free these days if you can provide the transportation. If it's older you might need one of those converter boxes, though.

As to the MS plugin, Silverlight is no worse than Flash IMO. NBC used it to good effect during the Olympics. If you're a true contrarian and using Linux or an old PPC Mac, you might be SOL.

on the other side of Lake Michigan, hoping for the heartlanders, too, Steve. . . .

What the heck, it's good for the Detroit economy, and that matters even more than the game.  (I can only say that here but not aloud, or I will face stunned looks from hoopster fan/family members wondering what is wrong with my priorities.)

Phantom of the Opera or Hannibal Lecter

Either way, I'm going to have nightmares about that mask.

BTW, Women's finals tomorrow.  UConn versus Lowuvl.

I loved watching Louisville (women) beat Oklahoma last night.  I'm sure Bubba Paris' twin daughters are awesome girls, but one team with two Paris girls, Hakim Aliguwan(sp)'s daughter and the sister of an NFL football player is a stacked deck.  I was happy that they lost.

The announcers didn't think Oklahoma would lose, and it's fun watching when the announcers don't predict the outcome....they just don't know what to say....but they kept saying, Louisville beat the team with all the talent!!!!!  Well, who has all the talent again?  Who won?

but you were in the hunt.

If tomorrow's game is anything like tonight I'm pretty sure we will know the outcome early. North Carolina beat Michigan State by 35 earlier this year and put tonight's game out of reach early. The 38-0 Huskies played Lewavul twice this season beating them by 28 and 39. Could be a very long night for the Cardinals.
