The "Gossling" At CQ

In response to reporting like this post from TPM's Zachary Roth on the "Gosslings," Porter Goss' political hacks brought with him to the CIA, who many of us speculate are behind the smear campaigns against Jane Harman and Nancy Pelosi., CQ's unofficial "Gossling," Jeff Stein, is outraged:

Some wild imaginations have already been at work on the story. Which is fine -- except when it misrepresents what I've been writing. The drift of the latest commentary on the case is that Porter Goss, the former Republican congressman who headed the CIA during 2004-2006, was out to "get" Harman, his Democratic nemesis on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, when he was its chairman. . . . According to my sources . . . Goss was duty bound to notify congressional leaders that Harman had become enmeshed in a national security investigation, and that the FBI intended to question her about a wiretapped conversation she had with a suspected Israeli secret agent.

It's nice that Stein's "sources" say that. Of course that makes for the fifth or sixth version of the story Stein has now reported. Oh by the way, you notice what Stein does not deny in his rant? That his "sources" are in fact the "Gosslings." Sorry Stein, the jig is up.

Speaking for me only

    "Make way for the gosslings!" (5.00 / 1) (#5)

a children's story, about a group of cute politicos, who live in a large, semi-secret government building off of dolley madison highway (va rt. 123), in langley, va.

their "keeper" herds them from their rooftop cages, into their special "gossling" elevator every morning, to the large fountain in the building lobby. there, they frolic the day away, delighting employees and guests alike with their comic antics.

the "keeper" carries bags of rightwing talking points, which he gives to small children, so they may hand feed the "gosslings".

a wonderful, heartwarming tale for the entire family, soon to be an animated disney feature film!

    Gossling sounds vaguely, well, you know. . . (none / 0) (#1)

Anyway, isn't there a way to actually verify if Goss was "duty bound" to do anything?  Surely that sort of "duty" is not off the record material.
