Susan Boyle is headed to the finals in Britain's Got Talent. Check out her funny reaction when the winner is announced.

The other winner: The dance group Diversity, who beat out Natalie.

    I love her voice, and I especially love her wicked sense of humor.  She may not have ever been kissed, but she's got some fire, for sure!

    Boyle cruised into the finals because of the call in vote which, for all intents and purposes, she had locked up before anyone performed. Her semi-final performance was ... poor. Boyle was off key on the first note, she scooped desperately for the second, and she continued to struggle through several subsequent bars. Amazingly, she was able to pull it together after that start. This surprised me. In every video of her performing live I've seen previously - six or seven of them including a couple in interviews - she was solid on the first note and on most of those occasions she was either singing acapella or she was accompanied by a butcher of a musician.

    Had this been her first performance she would have heard Simon's buzzer. Boyle was obviously more nervous for this performance than she was for the audition.

    beginning...looked like stagefright, actually...she didn't really seem connected to the song and the musicality of it.  She just sang words.

    She just sang words.

    For the second time in her life she had a full auditorium of people, and millions watching via television. Cut her some slack for nerves on that fact.

    She gets comfortable rather quickly imo, and she chooses some very difficult songs.

    I intend to even give her a bit of slack next weekend, too, when she has to sing live for the Finals. I've seen some very talented and respected musical experts rate her talent as extraordinary in interviews and I'm going to trust that they are telling it as they see it.

    These are only opinions of one performance, so sheesh yourself!  We're all "telling it as we/they see it."  Critiquing a performance and acknowledging the obvious isn't allowed?  Only accolades?  Hmmm....

    As for extraordinary talent, didn't I say (see above) that she has a fabulous voice?  Unlike most others who make it to the finals in these things, she's not a performer and the element of surprise is gone after her first wonderful night on the big stage, so no doubt it's daunting.

    Of course we'll all cut her some slack...I'll even cut you some slack, not knowing where this overeactive defense of someone I assume you don't know is coming from.

    story. Think whatever you want, but why spill any of the water publicly when the story is so optimistic and uplifting during these tormenting times?

    stories, no matter how contrived, are what we need during tormenting times.

    Next you'll be harranging us all to go to church.

    What's so optimistic and uplifting about an international lesson in not judging a book by its cover?  (I thought Bill Gates taught us that in spades).

    Look...her extraordinary voice is one thing...her idiosyncratic social behavior quite another.  It's beyond inappropriate and embarrassing IMO but I'm just an old fogy so ignore this comment.

    "Memories"needs a soprano to hit some of those high notes, and Susan Boyle's voice is deeper and richer than this song calls for.  I wish she'd choose something like "Climb Every Mountain" or "You'll Never Walk Alone" for the final, which would show off her talent much better, as well as be a dramatic finish.

    for her to live up to. The review I read said she started out really nervous then gained her composure for the song, so it didn't go unnoticed.

    Did you watch any of the other acts? They all made mistakes....it was a LIVE performance.

    gosh!  Again she brought me to tears.  I haven't seen the competition, but I'm hoping Susan Boyle will win just because she is so talented, so refreshing, and so real.

    by her voice, absolutely stunning. it's nice to see a normal (read: not a prettified face) person win one of these things for a change.

    even if she doesn't win the whole enchillada, i suspect there's a recording contract in her future.

    a television series or the plot of a movie, no one would believe this wacky character with the fabulous voice...unless she were on Boston Legal, of course.
