The "Liberal" Mika Brzezinski

The hubbub about the ignorant attacks on unions on the crazy morning show put on by MSNBC reminded me of the letter the self proclaimed "liberal" Mika Brzezinski sent to the NYTimes:

. . . This liberal thinks The New York Times should follow Joe Scarborough’s example of speaking truth to power — regardless of which party is in power.

Mika Brzezinski
New York, May 11, 2009

Of course Brzezinski's actual role on Crazy Joe's morning show is to play Alan Colmes to Joe's Sean Hannity. And she plays the role to perfection.

yet true, she's not as smart as Hannity.

What an embarrassment! You really have to avert your eyes out of shame when she opens her mouth and begins to try and make what she thinks is a cognitive, lucid comment.

She makes Joe Scarborough seem like a Talmudic scholar in comparison; and that's the point.

neither the daughter nor the father.  Though Zbig has wisely softened up in his overall FP stance since his days misadvising Jimmy C and confusing the heck out of the guy.

Mika strikes me as about as "liberal" as Harold Ford or Joe Lieberman.

Morning Joe -- 3 hours of mindless chattering and unintelligible cross talk and high-fiving Joe for taking an establishment-friendly center-right stance.

she pouts and scowls and then nods and agrees with everything that joe says.  she NEVER disagrees with him.  how and why she calls herself a liberal is a mystery to me.  i am not seeing it.  but she looks good nodding and then wincing when the boys start to fight.  she's like vanna white turning those letters on wheel of fortune.

i am glad i am on the west coast so i am only forced to see the show via clips or on the extremely rare occasion that i am up at 3am.

however, archangel has a couple of openings available.

ms. b is either an idiot, or just plays one on tv, for a rather hefty salary no doubt. by comparison, she makes practically any sentient being look like a talmudic scholar, and mr. scarborough only just barely fills that bill.

frankly, the more i see and read about him, i have to assume his district was home to many not very bright people, for him to have been elected to congress.

about it?  They all seem to think they are so damn interesting and great.

Their interrupting and mindless chatter has gotten to the point where I think it is frustrating to have the show on at all.  Which is fine.  I think they are pretty predictable at this point.  There was a time when there were a few things that were said by guests or otherwise that one would not have anticipated.  Of course, the second a guest goes off of Scarborough's talking points old Joe starts talking over him or her and shuts them down.  It is basically Bill O'Reilly's show with a gang fan club now.

The one good thing we can draw from this (5.00 / 2) (#18)
by scribe on Wed Jun 03, 2009 at 04:53:17 PM EST
is that the Republicans' (Joe ... Mika ...) shifting the target of their b*tching from Sotomayor to Unions tells us they have given up on the Sotomayor fight.

Remember the Clinton Impeachment?  Remember how, a couple days before the vote, Jerry Falwell went all volcanic on the Teletubbies and, especially, Tinky-Winky?  Purple was the gay color?  Genderless Tinky-winky's carrying a purse made Tinky clearly a Gay symbol?  That the triangular antenna on Tinky's head was both a gay symbol and symbolized the liberal media's radiating gay messages into kids heads?

    Yeah.  Admit it.  You remember.

And what did the more savvy among us say about it, then?

That changing the subject meant they recognized they had lost the fight.

They always pick one of their bogeymen to change the subject to when they know they've lost a fight.  Gays, unions, abortion (can't go there this week), brown people crossing the border to take your job (currently unusable due to (a) their heading south since there are no jobs and (b) that anti-brown people thing was the core of the Sotomayor fluffle).

So, its gays or unions.  It's the unions' turn this month.

FWIW, Tom Goldstein at SCOTUSBlog called it last week (5/28):  "It's Over"

anti-union theme is really nothing new on this show at all - and Ross-Sorkin was on so that was the focus today.  Tomorrow, they'll probably have someone else on who is some sort of "venerable lawyer" or just a dumb columnist like Pat Buchanan ready to level attacks on Sotomayor again.  One thing about Scarborough is that he is like a dog with a bone - he'll hang on well after everyone else has given up.

I heard a talking head say that the recently exposed secrets about our nuclear material will have to be closely guarded now to prevent its theft by Islamic terrorists or ecoterrorists...

Mind boggling. As if they don't already insure the security of radioactive material. And I despise the description "ecoterrorists." As in this

"Hey fellow treehuggers, let's go steal some nuclear waste and set off a bomb to poison the world worse than it already is..."

    You people crack me up

It has been a while since reading was such fun. But this stuff about Mika is just the best of the funnies. I am just chuckling along here. Its so funny to read the comments, and realize how on target you all are with a few exceptions.

Mika is not an Allen Colmes; she is simply life support for Joe scuzz ball, poor Joe Scarbough just the other day went on a rant about the debate were the Republicans take Soto being a racist because of her statement about having an affinity as of Spanish ethnic origin to give better analysis because she is one.

As Rachael Maddow would say, Joe was talking Soto down. What was really laughable as was within a few milliseconds in strong continuity Joe Scarbough talks about Obama's ethnic advantage in the this Middle East travel especially to Saudi Arabia. For Joe to say Obama looks like a Middle East person so he likely will make an impression. Sheesh. Wide open hypocrisy, ladies and gentleman of America at this time we witness the creation of the political right singularity, the black hole of stupidity. Infinity just belched and out comes the news see saw of not knowing just about anything with any good direction.

My point is both Soto and Obama are on the same page yet Joe Scarbough without hesitation can praise one while condemning the other. I mean this is done in the flash of the moment, turn your head right or turn your head left to do the Republican hokey pokey that's what the slippery slope is all about.
