Ms. Hepatitis C, Kristen Diane Parker, faces an additional 42 charges in the Indictment (pdf) against her that was returned today.

All of the new charges only cover Parker's alleged conduct at Rose and not her last employer, Audubon. Testing on patients continues, and more charges could come in later indictments.

Parker could spend the rest of her life in prison if she is convicted.

    Had she been able to get her Fentanyl or drug of choice legally and at a reasonable price, she wouldn't have stolen vials from the operating room meant for other patients. She also might not have contracted Hepatitis C herself if she had access to clean needles when she was shooting up heroin with her boyfriend way back when.

    For example many businesses keep their pens, pencils and legal pads, etc., under close supervision, if not lock and key, to thwart employee theft.

    For another example, liquor was the target of theft at the restaurant I worked at, all those years ago.

    Knives, forks and spoons, too. Heck, 5 gal tubs of ice cream were disappearing as well.

    Clothes hangers, even, from the wardrobe trailer on a feature film I worked on.

    All affordable and widely and legally available stuff, but stolen by employees anyway.

    the WOD was responsible for her need to steal drugs, it isn't responsible for her willingness to infect countless patients. She could have stolen the drugs and switched out clean needles she had stolen previously. People wouldn't be getting their medicine, which is bad enough, but at least she wouldn't have been infecting them.

    take the slightly extra effort to steal some clean needles so that she wouldn't infect the patients.

    Just steal the drugs and take your chances - don't try to replace the vials (which took forethought).

    The WOD has nothing to do with this reckless behavior.
