Charlie Sheen Hospitalized: What About His Probation?

Did Charlie Sheen violate his probation last night when taken from his hotel room to the hospital? TMZ has more. The New York Post says he was on a cocaine-fueled rampage.

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said no complaints were made and there was no arrest. Sheen was not expected to face any criminal charges.
Sheen got 90 days of unsupervised probation. The judgement is here. Probation ends on November 2, 2010, if there are no violations. It also states he may not use alcohol in excess or drugs except for prescription medication. He also could not violate criminal laws or ordinances except traffic infractions.

Charlie's rep says:

"What we are able to determine is that Charlie had an adverse allergic reaction to some medication and was taken to the hospital, where is expected to be released tomorrow."

Even if the DA filed a petition to revoke his probation, and he was found to have violated the terms, the judge might or might not revoke his probation. He could also continue it or extend it.

The DA's office isn't planning on commenting on the case.

it doesn't...waste of time and money unless you're interested in getting sober.

Charlie musta really been raging if the escort would risk arrest herself to call police, according to some reprts...bad scene.

And relapse is almost universal for rehab patients. When you ask a drug treatment counselor how many of their patients relapse, the usual answer is 100%.

...of industry. And it's often a court supported industry.

I personally know of no case where someone was ordered to rehab where it worked. (On the celebrity level, maybe Robert Downey Jr...after several tries...qualifies as a success.) I know several cases personally where the person hit bottom, sought help themselves and managed to turn it around. You have to want it. Being ordered to go does nothing to make anyone want it.

to loose his job at CBS?

I hope the guy gets some help but does he have to kill someone before CBS gets rid of him?

The show is very profitable for CBS. (none / 0) (#11)

    And rightly so, imo.

And, at $1.8MM per episode, x 22 episodes/year, not too shabby for him either...

...Sheen can afford the good stuff. I'd think he could also afford a safe, secure and private environment in which to do it. That said, I won't jump to any conclusions here. I don't know why he did what he did. Maybe there is an innocent explanation. It may not be likely, but at least for now, it remains possible.

is trying to sugarcoat this and make us believe that he had a reaction to medication.  Uh, was that medication perhaps cocaine?  If he violated his probabtion then he needs to head to court.  Perhaps they can put him in rehab like they did LL.

Sounds like probation is the least of his problems (none / 0) (#14)
