Tuesday Night Open Thread

Why do a million things that require immediate attention always happen right before a big holiday?

In case I only have time DWTS tonight (which I will put on other threads) here's an open thread for all other topics.

    I think this is a great idea (5.00 / 2) (#7)

WASHINGTON -- Some progressive organizations have been making a push in recent days for incoming congressional Republicans to drop their government-sponsored health care on the grounds that keeping the plans would be hypocritical.

The incident started after incoming Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.) complained loudly during freshmen orientation that his coverage wouldn't start immediately upon taking office. It took a new turn when Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Penn) and Bobby Schilling (R-Ill.) both said they would, in fact, forgo the coverage. It escalated even further when White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs called out Harris for the "irony," and the municipal workers union AFSCME applied a similar charge to the whole GOP shortly thereafter. link

    I've been fighting fires too.

Left work a little early to grocery shop, and logged back in when I got home to find another one smoldering. And few people will be in tomorrow, so there may be some surprises for them on Monday. Oh well, we do what we can do.

    It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without . . . (none / 0) (#2)

a rush project getting set aside by an urgent project and a Monday deadline, lol!~ Thankfully, it's a football project, so I'll just work on it while watching this weekend's games :) And yes, I'm planning for the turkey to be done so that dinner is completely finished/eaten by the time the Jets KO  :)

I suspect the Dec holiday will follow a similar pattern, as will NYE. Hasn't failed to for years . . .

and the rush to spend the day cleaning and cooking :) I can design in my head while cleaning, which is good because I'm at an absolute blank on the urgent project, lol!~ Usually if I sleep on it, I wake with ideas, but this AM I woke from a dream of warm fussy cashmere knee socks! I guess it was a tad chilly in my house :)
