What's with your boy Sal Alosi?

Does Alosi still have a job? (none / 0) (#7)
by caseyOR on Mon Dec 13, 2010 at 05:51:17 PM EST
And if so, why? Seems to me cheating, and Alosi's move was cheating, should be right at the top of any list of fireable offenses. He's just lucky Carroll wasn't hurt.

    Parent
Ya, I think he should be fired too. (none / 0) (#8)

I've been ashamed of the Jets play countless times in my life, yesterday included (I was at that debacle)...but I've never been ashamed to be a Jet fan till I learned of the stunt this Alosi clown pulled...he should be fired by now I hope.

    Thats just a dirtbag move.

a Jet fan by any means (freezing to death tonight in South Florida), but while out of line with his actions, Alosi was still standing exactly where he was supposed to be and the Dolphin player was three feet out of bounds where he chose to run on his own. I would have preferred a one game suspension at most.

Word is he has been suspended for the rest of the season.

I couldn't tell if Carroll was blocked out of bounds near the line...regardless he was in the white...Alosi initiates contact and he ain't even wearing a jersey...that should never happen.

A one game suspension is sufficient from the league, or three games as the case may be...I'm saying the team has to do something here, its an embarrassment to the green and white.

    Parent

and a fine. I wonder how much he makes?

or out, Sal eff'n tripped the guy on purpose. And the guy got hurt because of it. A stunningly no-class punk move...

    Musings about 1933 and now... (none / 0) (#2)
by jeffinalabama on Mon Dec 13, 2010 at 05:38:09 PM EST
In 1933, There were two distict possibilities that would have undermined or ended constitutional governance in the US-- Fascism and Communism. There was also the gold issue, fairly serious at the time, because Roosevelt ended the gold standard-- the ability of a person to get gold instead of dollars for bonds, etc.

Instead of writing a dissertation here, let me ask a question-- what about monetary policy? I'm not sure that a coherent policy exists, except to stave off inflation.

Is this the correct response to the current crisis? There are certainly some short-term international gains, but what about medium to long term?

Shoulder.  They were hopeful that the extra 31 hours from when the game was supposed to happen, would be helpful in the healing process.

shoulder, I'm just reminded of the Michael Jordan grassy knoll theory when he retired for a year after they investigated his gambling. Maybe it took Jenn Sterger to end the streak.

    Parent
    He's retired before too (none / 0) (#15)
by jbindc on Mon Dec 13, 2010 at 06:55:50 PM EST
It could be a combination of all of it.  The stress of "textgate", plus his team not living up to expectations, plus dealing with his marriage probably does no good for any existing shoulder injury.

flies through the Senate 83-15. 9 Dems, 5 Repubs, and Bernie against. Feingold voted against but he votes against everything. I obviously underestimated when I said about 35 Dems would vote for it.

This is from a tribute dinner for Ray Harryhausen in London last summer.  The cool part is that if you scroll down past Peter Jackson and Phil Tippett, Dennis Muren and Ken Ralston and Randy Cook, Ray Bradbury, Rick Baker and Tim Burton you get to one of my best and oldest friends, Jim Aupperle.

I thought it was cool anyway.
