Worlds Largest Medical Marijuana Conference Underway

If you needed any more evidence that medical marijuana is an industry whose time is now, check out KushCon II, in Denver this weekend. Reportedly, it's the world's largest cannibis conference.

Over 340,000 square feet of the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, December 17-19 will be consumed by KushCon II, the largest star-studded Cannabis Lifestyle convention ever to take place on the planet.

The event sponsored by Kush Magazine and Dailybuds is open to the public of all ages and is family-friendly. There will be no cannabis allowed at the event. The weekend will be packed with entertainment, information, and fun for all that attend. There are over 450 vendors from all over the world as well as local businesses including medical marijuana centers, edible manufacturing companies, plus many vendors selling clothing, smoke-ware and other special cannabis lifestyle gifts that are sure to complete any “Kushmas shopping” wish list.

The panels pack some serious wallop. Both New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson and Colorado Rep. Jared Polis will speak. Here's today's schedule. And tomorrow's.

The conference is open to the public, and is "family friendly." There will be no marijuana at the event, so no medical marijuana card or doctor's recommendation is necessary. The event may break prior attendance records, drawing as many as 50,000 people. NORML is streaming the event live online here.

...the anti's are clutching their pearls over the ads on the buses around town promoting the event.  This sort of event is clearly going to turn everyone into drooling zombie heroin addicts.  Won't someone think of the children!?

Kudos to RTD for not caving.

"There are over 450 vendors from all over the world..."

I somehow doubt that medical marijuana vendors will have any more scruples about selling to people with schizophrenia or those with diagnoses of cannibis abuse/dependence than liquor store owners have about selling to people with alcohol dependence.  And government efforts to enforce such scruples with "external controls" will be lambasted as "harassing" the "medical marijuana" providers.

CVS has scruples about selling oxy or other  powerful narcotics, as long as you have the permission slip and insurance/cash.

Not that I think any vendor should be excercising such scruples...they're vendors, not doctors...and certainly not nannys.

It's so funny to me that some want the most stringent of controls on one of the least dangerous drugs on the market...apririn has more deaths attributed to it for god's sake.

...I've never had to be evaluated by a medical doctor or licensed by the State to walk into a liquor store and make a purchase.

Oh, and those "external controls"?  The vendors have been working hand in hand with the State regulators to develop those "controls".  They understand they are necessary to gain legitimacy for the industry.  Go figure.

I somehow doubt that you care about anything other than your own little marinol scheme.  Just follow the money indeed.

Encourage dissent.  Once the dissenters have popped to the surface, chop off their heads.  The possible parallel is obvious.
