Bump and Update: Shaun White wins the gold medal for the men's half-pipe. He still had another run to go, and he topped his victory lap with a Double McTwist 1260, two flips with three spins,finishing with a 48.4. (He also created the Double Cork.)

The 23 year old, who earns more than $10 million a year, perfected the move, which he created, at his own private half-pipe near Copper Mountain, accessible only by helicopter or snowmobile. Red Bull paid $500,000 to build it. It's at 11,000 feet above sea level and has a 600-foot foam pit so he won't get hurt while trying out new moves. [H]e's saving his patented trick, the Double McTwist 1260, for Wednesday night's final, where Louie Vito of "Dancing with the Stars" fame and Japan's Ryo Aono have also secured spots.

Move the antenna around. Look up the direction that the stations are at. (There is a place on the internet to do that where they talked about DTV coming. (Think government.) You can also call the station about their transmitting site.
Try to get near a window without a metal blind.
There are antennas and antennas. You can get powered ones. Some work better than others in different places.

I glad Lindsay finally got her Gold Medal. She is so beautiful that in the Olympics advertising her picture probably raised a lot of interest and money for the Olympics.

I ought a new television last week. First HD I've owned. I bought an antenna. Wanted to see the Olympics. And Nascar. And, of course, other shows.

No NBC channels in range. No Olympics. Meh.

get it via antenna? Sometimes you need to play with location and rescan. And some days NBC just doesn't show up. I bought a small portable one and it scanned and found 25 channels. No NBC, yet I get it on my other TVs pretty much all the time. I plan on rescanning at the airport if I want to watch NBC, otherwise no biggie as it's also a dvd player, so I'll have a movie or 2 if all else fails :)

if the new hds are anything like the older ones-- there's an NBC affiliate some 50 miles away, same as CBS and NBC...so maybe it will be there...

Woman commnetator noted where she was favoring the injured right shin in several places, doing some unorthodox things to limit the pressure on the bruised area. Could have taken out a weaker skier.

... that the Olys are a ratings hit. After the doom and gloom predicting that "no one" would tune in for certain little-seen events, it's nice to see that more people actually WANT to see more "obscure" stuff.

Ever try curling? I spent a good portion of my life eye-rolling it cause the cult is so downright weird. However, it's so fun and fairly easy to get a league going at your community rink.

I highly recommend it as a temp-controlled winter sport for anyone to try who doesn't want to trudge through feet of snow or walk hunched over in blustery winds. Even temperate places have rinks now and it's a great way to get into an air=conditioned environment year round.

You can even season-friendly your skills in Spring and Summer with, eg, bocce or lawn-bowling on the grass.

I've been recording and spoiler-proofing my fave events from a wide variety of live and SAT feeds and waving all my flags. I now multi-hyphenate with eight nationalities!

for my hometown's latest gold medalist, Shani Davis!

We have so many Olympians here with so many of the training facilities, so we're expecting more medals . . . and that could be why my local teevee market led the nation in watching the Winter Olympics. That, and cabin fever, waiting for it to get a bit easier to get out and about.

It's not bragging if he can bring it! I wasn't with the media slam on him to focus on performance before media accessibility.

Yesterday to team U.S.A!

I don't know about anyone else, but I really like the "denim" pants that the snowboard team wears. There's something so... American about it.

And the U.S. is back at the top of the overall and gold medal counts. Looking forward to some more skating tonight too. Should be fun to watch.

I'm not surprised NBC is doing well. It seems like a lot more people are watching the Olympics this year. I think the China games got a lot of people more interested in the Olympics in general.

It wasn't many Olympics ago that the coverage was live and on-going throughout the day. Since there aren't options to watching it if you can't get a Canadian channel, NBC has you locked in. I hope that they get constructive feedback that will have them providing better coverage next time if they get the contract again.
