Andrew Breitbart is offering 100k for the Journolist archives. Not sure why. Joe Klein is revealing them:

Glenn] Greenwald, locked in the sterile prison of his ideology, is completely incompetent to understand. And now, Greenwald--who, so far as I can tell, only regards the United States as a force for evil in the world [. . .]

Greenwald responds here. No word yet from the Journolisters on this spat. Presumably, private e-mails are flying. Also presumably, not 400 at a time.

    I have always sat back and wondered WTF was going on on the journolist after reading a couple of hot aerified stratospheric 1500 word write ups that were obviously related to some fight going on behind the curtain :)

    I learned about his position, and why he held it, in ways that I wouldn't have if our argument had remained in front of an audience.

    fired for leaked journolist.  For anyone interested it is few days back, I think the 25th.  He says he's no longer a member of journolist but raves about how terrific it is.  What happened?  You guys throw him out or something?

    with Matt Drudge like the plague, I didn't read the stories leading up  Wiegert's resignation, so I did not know what it was really about - JournoList! I see now i missed some amusement.

    funny that things got leaked in Tucker Carlson's rag soon after he was denied membership....hmmmmm.

    I hope Breitbart has some takers on his offer. Would I read? Maybe not, maybe so. Might be handy to know what they are saying about us, the great unwashed, behind our backs.

    to me exemplifies the problem of the Beltway Media and I would think Ezra Klein would be more sensitive to this (but I guess not)...  it's like when the McChrystal story broke.  Do you think that kind of story could've come out of a Journolist member?  Or have been encouraged by Journolist?  (I don't know if Michael Hasting is a member of Journolist or not, BTW).  Journalists seem to be grasping at straws as their institutional power erodes to bloggers and social media, and it's not doing much to improve their ethics.

    Also Joe Klein is an idiot.

    Blogway Media, and almost as out of touch with voters and the horrible problems normal people deal with right now :)  And in many cases they have made themselves almost as irrelevant.  I don't always agree with BTD but he inspires some serious conversations you don't find in many other places and spaces. And I can disagree with him and he doesn't cry or even sniffle :)  And total lunatics don't surround him while he sits in the middle of his plastic, full of serious people partisan air, intellectual floatie :) I don't place Digby or Greenwald in that catagory either.

    My husband has been really ticked about the Corporations are People too ruling, but last night we were having together time and I explained what Greenwald wrote about grassroots organizations now being able to throw big money at stuff too.  He had not realized that reality either.  And we will be able to tell if the organizations we donate to are really working for us with our money too, or if they have become entrenched eye candy (which is how I feel about some of the women's rights orgs out there right now).

    Because the policies they are discussing behind a veil are very personal for many. The idea that a bunch of people who aren't going to be affected by policy and aren't associated with or liable to bear the consequences or results(IE that the issue IS personal) ought to discussing policy  behind the backs of those that are sounds about as Washington DC as you can get(and I don't mean that as a compliment.)

    Whatever though. If fighting about the Journolist keeps these guys busy for awhile then it's no skin off my nose.

    their own incompetence -- or anyone else's. Klein is right that, "to be sure, lazy, corrupt journalism happens" but his own work demonstrates he clearly demonstrates his limited ability to recognize it when it happens.

    did anyone else miss this:

    In May 2009 he invited further controversy when he was quoted in an article in Politico.com, wherein he stated that the reasoning and ideas of prominent conservative commentator Charles Krauthammer were of limited value because of Krauthammer's wheelchair use:

    The actual quote:

    "There's something tragic about him, too," Klein said, referring to Krauthammer's confinement to a wheelchair, the result of a diving accident during his first year of medical school. "His work would have a lot more nuance if he were able to see the situations he's writing about."

    What has Joe Klein ever, ever done that involved him getting off his @ss and observing anything whatsoever?

    "I have neither the time nor legal background to figure out who's right."

    in forming a sentence -- should read "his own work demonstrates his limited ability to recognize when in happens."

    Shouldn't try to mess with the internet and
    talk to customers on the phone at the same time.
