    when a Politicians not bound by re-election they do something incredibly brave because they aren't cowed by Voters anymore and thus political considerations are no longer an issue- yeah this is like that only the opposite.

    lobbying as soon as possible after his departure from Congress. BTW, Evan was also a strong proponent of the "Cat Food Commission" so that cuts to SS could pay for his tax breaks. Nothing simple about his selfishness IMO.

    tangible differnce between Bayh and his state's current Governor Mitch Daniels at this point- there both bland fiscal conservative rich guys- does one occasionally wear a whacky tie or something so I can tell them apart.

    Only this apple didn't just "fall" far from the tree, it was flung far, far away.  I wonder what Birch thinks of his son?  (As of this writing, he's still alive- he's 82 and lives in Maryland).
