    I mean, I suppose that it's at least good that Sullivan has come around, after a decade. But at the same time it appears he's come around in the most self-unaware, clueless, ego-driven way imaginable. Nauseating that he gets a voice. I might prefer Hitchens' idiotic blustering mulishness on these sorts of issues.

    Perhaps we can give a few more visas to people from Africa, Asia, and South America and fewer to English-born megapundits. I don't think producing wheelbarrows full of BS counts as a "specialty occupation", and if it does we've got plenty of American-born candidates.

    Or we can just build a wall between London and the US East Coast. We've already got a pretty nice, if apparently ineffectual moat. Maybe throw some cold-water alligators in there around Iceland.

    anything that results in a long overdue debate on our MIC/National Security State would be remarkable and very welcomed.

    He is encouraging the Conservative base to think.  Something that has been deeply discouraged by the party leaders since the Nixon era.

    rep. paul with...............someone else. for his entire public career, rep. paul has been a staunch advocate of completely changing our entire society, from the top down, replacing it with the long discredited "libertarian" ideal. that he, every so often, gets something right (1,000 monkeys at keyboards, shakespeare) hardly makes up for his being wrong 99.99% of the time.

    I remember reading Rabinowitz's columns years ago and my recollection is that she was kind of witty, sharp tongued, and mostly attacked republicans. She kind of reminded me of a female "Lionel."

    Then, I didn't hear from her for a long time until she popped up with the Wall Street Journal Editorial gang. The wit I remember has morphed into full blown venom, and the only adjective that does her justice these days is "repulsive."

    Am I "mis-remembering" Rabinowitz?

    Does anyone else here have similar memories, or have I just jumped the shark?
