Repeal And Replace

Matt Miller:

"Good afternoon, I'm Brian Williams reporting from Washington, where it looks like October 26, 2017, will be a day that truly goes down in history. In a few moments, at a table not far from where I now stand, President Hillary Clinton will sign into law the universal health-care legislation - "Medicare for All," as she calls it - that completes a journey Mrs. Clinton began nearly 25 years ago. [. . .] Who would have thought then - or later, when President Barack Obama's big health reform was overturned by the Supreme Court in a controversial 5 to 4 ruling in 2012 - that today's bipartisan bill would be the result? For some perspective on the twists and turns of history, we're joined by NBC's David Gregory. David, health reform seemed dead in the water in 2012. How did we get from that Supreme Court ruling to today?"

If life were only like this. As DemfromCt says, "Anyone else want what he's smoking?"

Speaking for me only

this particular train of thought seems to prevalent lately. This could possibly happen IF HCR is repealed and people once again realize that the insurance industry is the one messing them over.

What I'm wondering is what happens when the actual mandates kick in? How are people going to react to that?

...who taut Obama's wonderful healthcare reform are pajama bloggers and will likely have to comply with the mandate.

Suddenly they'll realize that the health insurance bill doesn't provide "affordable health CARE" like they've been tauting all along.  They'll realize they were dreaming all this time.  Of course, they'll find a way to blame that fact and the mandate on the Republicans...and they'll ask for extra pay-pal donation to pay their health INSURANCE bill.

will probably still be working in 2017. I see their reporting will be just as inane.

Can you believe that they are even allowing her to be the President even in their imaginations when real HCR is passed?  TOO FUNNY!

don't know what the biggest downer is...

The assumption that one would have to be high to think that by 2017 we might get healthcare legislation that resembles what civilized countries already have....

    or

The assumption that Brian Williams and David Gregory will still be the main faces in television news...

but not as a result of repeal or overturn of the current bill. It will happen because the current plan will be found lacking.

Not medicare for all (none / 0) (#15)

Socialized medicine is too contentious; they will just make health care a public utility like the phone company used to be years ago, and have Kaiser Permanente provide it to the whole country at a government-regulated rate.
