Charlie Sheen Media Tour Bombs on Opening Night n Detroit

Charlie Sheen's opening night of his media tour in Detroit was an unmitigated disaster. Boos, catcalls, people shouting for refunds and walking out.

This reviewer says fans were angered and stunned.

Charlie was a dud.

What did people expect from a man whose grasp on reality diminishes daily? Lucidity?

As for Sheen's post-show comments, this about says it all: "It's OK, this has been an experiment," he said. As for the next shows: "We've got it under control."[More...]

Maybe for the next show he should turn the stage into a mental ward, with his Goddesses playing nurses, and him in a hospital bed hooked up to a few intravenous tubes, and while watching his p*rn collection on the overhead tv, he could talk about how he became such a winner.

He reminds me of the ancient anonymous proverb:

"Those that the gods would destroy, they first make mad."

What's sad is that Sheen has no one left who's close enough to help stop his descent into self-destructive madness.

Update: Reuters report on show here.

But I expect the professional stand-up comedians are not surprised.

Is this man has children.  Neglected children.  Children who will grow up wondering why their parents chose inebriation and infamy over their own (the children's) best interests.  Sad and pathetic and injurious.

That said, I enjoy a good trainwreck comuppence as much as anyone, and this sounds like a doozy.  Howard Beale without the Howard Beale.  IOW, an addict deperately trying to do everything he can to avoid dealing with addiction itself.

and amazing at the same time. It's being reported that Charlie will pocket somewhere between 2 and 7 million dollars from the current twenty show "tour".

    Monetarily speaking... (none / 0) (#6)

    the guy is still winning.

Scalpers are gonna be losing, and losing big time.  Never bet against the short American attention span scalpers...let it be a lesson to ya.

By the time he hits Radio City I could probably score a ticket for a sawbuck.

a couple of cans of whip a*s and make an unannounced house call to Charlie's house..

Sounds like the boy could use some more on-location jungle training.
