because of the Million Dollar Quartet. Mentioned it to a friend, showed the first thousand words, and she wants to shop it... as long as I complete it!
I repeat: keep writing. Parent
That might be a great idea, actually. Jim's a great fellow, and he knows the good tables, and the good rooms.
Besides, I consider him a friend I haven't met face to face yet. We talk by telephone, though. He's a hell of a player, let me tell you. Parent
That's what I hear. Don't have the musical chops to know if most of their music really is in minor keys. Parent
I owe my best friend all through H.S. to R.E.M. Freshman year this dude is in all my classes rockin' an R.E.M. sticker on his notebook. I said "cool band" and it was all over, we were joined at the hip for 4 years.
Thanks R.E.M. Parent
Or when Johnny Cash left the Tennessee Two! Parent
And that, dear folks, is bad. Parent
Like George said though, "all things must pass". Parent

The Obama administration is assembling a constellation of secret drone bases for counterterrorism operations in the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula as part of a newly aggressive campaign to attack al-Qaeda affiliates in Somalia and Yemen, U.S. officials said. One of the installations is being established in Ethiopia, a U.S. ally in the fight against al-Shabab, the Somali militant group that controls much of that country. Another base is in the Seychelles, an archipelago in the Indian Ocean, where a small fleet of "hunter-killer" drones resumed operations this month after an experimental mission demonstrated that the unmanned aircraft could effectively patrol Somalia from there. The U.S. military also has flown drones over Somalia and Yemen from bases in Djibouti, a tiny African nation at the junction of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. In addition, the CIA is building a secret airstrip in the Arabian Peninsula so it can deploy armed drones over Yemen.

Of course:
"The operation of the drones in Seychelles for the purposes of counter-piracy surveillance and other related activities has always been unarmed, and the U.S. government has never asked us for them to be armed," Adam said in an e-mail. "This was agreed between the two governments at the first deployment and the situation has not changed." The State Department cables show that U.S. officials were sensitive to perceptions that the drones might be armed, noting that they "do have equipment that could appear to the public as being weapons." To dispel potential concerns, they held a "media day" for about 30 journalists and Seychellois officials at the small, one-runway airport in Victoria, the capital, in November 2009. One of the Reapers was parked on the tarmac. "The government of Seychelles invited us here to fight against piracy, and that is its mission," Craig White, a U.S. diplomat, said during the event. "However, these aircraft have a great deal of capabilities and could be used for other missions."

I can see that. Parent
Supposedly armed only with a camera...no bombs, yet. Parent
BTW, re poker, I just read online some reviews of Artichoke Joe's, say it gone downhill. You ever play at Lucky Chances up the road in South San Fran/Colma? Parent
I look unwell, that might help! Parent
Lucky Chances the same. LC was noted for its super loose 20-40 games. 7-8 players before the flop every hand... and at least one raise... Pocket pairs weren't worth much. I'd wait for suited connectors or suited over cards.
I always enjoyed the smell of Colma....;-) Parent

Takes a good 3k to crack a tighty 5-10 VFW game.
I'll talk to Jim first. Red chips is red chips. Parent

If the docs look at you strange when you say, "stick the d@mned think in before I explode or pass out from pain!" they decide you're serious.
Of course, some seriously strong pain pills to go along with the new plastic part.
One day good, then pay the consequences for the next week, lol!
I give up on dating for now.
Thinking of heading down the Artichoke Joe's or Lucky Chances to play some live poker. Gotta start making some more money here soon. Seems like the only honest way about now.
And how about FullTilt, huh. Lederer and Jesus accused of running a ponzi scheme? I have to say I almost laughed. And I still say this is all Vegas money buying pols. Parent
I might be getting back into some tourney or no limit casino games... can't do anything else. Parent
Best of luck to you.
Oh anyone else heard anything about Todd Palin wanting a divorce? Parent
Your surgery is next month, no? Here's hoping the pain is tolerable until then.
As a gesture of solidarity I considered, briefly, cheering for Auburn. One for all and all for one, yeah, but I just can't. Best I can do, and I'd only do this for you, is to stop actively cheering against the old War Eagle. Parent
Don't give up on romance just because the junk is on injured reserve, get creative:) Parent
Prayers heading your way!
For my friend...one Love. Please feel better! How is everyone else in the family? Stress can be bad. Parent
Everyone is fine, and looking forward to being together. We tried to make it easy for everyone. Took the insurance money(not much)paid for everyone room in the family. A hospitality suit for friday evening, breakfast in the AM. Service at 1130, followed by a catered brunch. In some ways this a good time, imagine everyone surprised to find out today I am in the hospital. I think they just want to put there hand on me(LOL). I've only been in the hospital to have babies. I guess I will be leaving empty handed. I will admit I miss my mommy. As far as the pneumonia,I can't change it. I will think about when I get back. It will be a wonderful celebration of her Life. Parent
If you can't smoke how about using an atomizer? Same end result. Parent
And a good time in Cincy! Parent
I grieve with you. Your loss reminds me of mine, and I'm crying for both of us right now. Parent
The ATF is looking into it.
You will be missed, big man. Ignore the commericial if it appears.
Think there's some money in it... Parent
While there are Pirate Party chapters in the U.S.A., no party member has yet won election in the U.S. AFAIK.
Based on a core platform of patent law reform, privacy rights, transparency in government and free Internet access, the Pirate Party also promotes legalization of marijuana, a guaranteed basic income and free transport for all Berliners.
What's not to like? Just expand "free transport for all Berliners" to include all people, and the platform is good to go in the U.S.A. Parent
How's that for an addition? Parent
It is a big issue here. It deserves a prominent place in the platform. Parent
Looking back, this place would be in court for a hostile workplace....Because it actually fit all of the classic legal requirements for a genuinely hostile workplace for women.
But here's the full quote:
I remember once I told Valerie [Jarrett] that, I said if it weren't for the president, this place would be in court for a hostile workplace....Because it actually fit all of the classic legal requirements for a genuinely hostile workplace to women.

That seems like an important distinction if you are evaluating Obama's reaction to gender issues in the WH.
Drum:
"This doesn't necessarily change the substance of the charge about the White House atmosphere -- though it might, depending on what Dunn meant -- but it definitely changes what it suggests about Obama himself."
