Broadwell sent Gen. Allen an anonymous e-mail in May saying she knew Allen had a meeting scheduled with Kelley. (She warned him to stay away from her.) Allen forwarded the e-mail to Kelley, and so it began.
In June, Kelley got more e-mails, one of which referenced a planned meeting with Gen. Petraeus.
So now Kelley wasn't just e-mailing and exchanging documents with Gen. Allen, but meeting him in person?
Broadwell does sound like a cyber-stalker in checking their schedules, but I'm still more interested in why two top generals were in such frequent contact with a party planner and her bizarre twin sister, and why the generals would support the sister in her custody fight -- even after she had lost it.
Broadwell's problem now is that she apparently stored classified documents at home.
Petraeus said today he will testify before Congress.
If the FBI agent didn't do anything wrong, why was he referred to OPR (Office of Professional Responsibility) for an investigation into his conduct in the Kelley affair? Here's a picture of Humphries in 1999.
Also, more details on Jill and Scott Kelley's financial troubles. They are "flat broke", and their family residence (not just their downtown office building) has been in foreclosure since 2010 (no payments since 2009.) The $25,000 credit card debt was nothing compared to:
Regions Bank sued the Kelleys for $253,437.31 in unpaid credit card bills, according to court documents. In February the couple agreed to pay $850 a month, with $8,500 down, until the balance is paid, records show.
I wonder how Kelley can afford to pay Abbe Lowell. And why she needs a top flight criminal defense attorney in Washington, D.C. as opposed to just a crisis management consultant. My guess is it has to do with what was on her computer that she turned over to the FBI so it could investigate the anonymous e-mails that were linked to Broadwell. And I don't mean possibly flirtatious e-mails from Allen.
Why would the Kelleys rack up that kind of credit card debt, unless they thought they would be reimbursed? I wonder if Kelley was asking Petraeus and Allen to help her get money from the military, in exchange for her (or her sister's) helpful liaison work with the Lebanese and other Middle Eastern officials. The media is being led like a dog to water to Broadwell, but I still think there's a bigger story in Jill Kelley and Natalie Khawam.
