by Greenwald is the reason Clapper, the man who lies to Congress, is declassifying these materials. The cat's out of the bag. Snowden's claims are being proven true.

"Every search by an NSA analyst is fully auditable, to ensure that they are proper and within the law."

It sounds like some audits are coming, based on Snowden's comments:

"It's very rare to be questioned on our searches," Snowden told the Guardian in June, "and even when we are, it's usually along the lines of: 'let's bulk up the justification'."

I guess the difference between "fully auditable" and not is that the congress has to have knowledge of the scope of the programs in the first place.

but the actual document (in the third link) is mightily redacted, so...reading between the blacked-out lines and the phony CYA of the rest of it (page 7 is particularly funny, in light of what Greenwald exposed in the Guardian today) leaves us with not much more information than we had before.

Clapper's head should roll for lying to Congress. And then there's Feinstein...the NSA's fool.

Is there some reason you deleted my (none / 0) (#12)

    comment?

Because in addition to letting you know that the links didn't work for me (and I tried in both Firefox and IE, with no luck - I ended up getting to them via the NYT - they do work for me from home, so I don't know what the problem was), I also had something to say about the release of the documents - was there something objectionable about what I said?

In the future, would you prefer that we not let you know when we experience problems with links and things?

I'll have to go home to review these (I forgot last night). The links don't work. From work. I don't know how I can be any clearer without actually using the word "censorship". I guess I could use the word "blocked".
