Who woke up happy this morning?

What an awesome game we got yesterday between the Patriots and Ravens.   I despise the hoodie and all things Patriots but give credit were credit is due to come back from two separate 14 point deficits shows this team is ready to win another championship.

Seattle looks like they did last year and it will be a lot to ask for someone to go in and take the NFC from them.

I hope Rodgers is able to play near 100% because he is the best QB in footbal when he is at his best.  If that calf holds him back then they could be in trouble.   And will Dallas stick to running the ball and let the new Romo stand up and win the big game that he's never been able to win?

Can't wait and throw on top Peytom/Luck and you have a fabulous day of NFL football.

...playing a team that had no business in the playoffs and at home.  Until late in the game, the Panthers were no more than a score from tying it up.

I think the Pack can take them down so long as Rogers 2nd half is playing.

Speaking of, am I the only one thinking Rogers was full of it on the injury.  First half the guy looked like he needed a wheelchair, then second half he's all over the pocket, even sliding out, and the skip/limp disappeared.  He wasn't 100%, but nothing like Q1 & Q2.

I don't think it was a shot as they would have done it before the game, as well.  I think it was Rogers playing up the injury until after half time so no adjustments would be made.  My opinion of course.

you can download the google app translator for free. It puts a button on your toolbar. Open any article in any language (except some obscure ones), click on the button and it translates them.

IE should have the same thing using Bing translator.

Firefox won't translate twitter feeds or You Tube text which is why I use Chrome when reading Twitter and You Tube.

As a stand-alone app for the iPad for translating text using copy-paste. It does okay, although you can get oddities, like when it translated the Estonian version of the Bach work known in English as "Sheep may safely graze" as "Sheep may eat in peace."

FBI, DOJ, to Charge General Petraeus (none / 0) (#11)
by Mr Natural on Fri Jan 09, 2015 at 08:10:01 PM EST
WASHINGTON -- The F.B.I. and Justice Department prosecutors have recommended bringing felony charges against David H. Petraeus, contending that he provided classified information to a lover while he was director of the C.I.A., officials said, leaving Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to decide whether to seek an indictment that could send the pre-eminent military officer of his generation to prison.

Lots of guilty politicians and government workers Washington through the years.   Interesting that Holder would choose to prosecute now when he might not be able to see it all the way through.

I'd be interested to see how the General polls publicly now.   My sense is that while he took a hit overall for showing such lack of judgement he probably is still very popular overall for his performance as a general.

This prosecution shows once again how serious this administration takes leakers and I must say It is definitely not going ahead to score political points for this administration.

Slado: "I'd be interested to see how the General polls publicly now. My sense is that while he took a hit overall for showing such lack of judgement he probably is still very popular overall for his performance as a general."

Granted, he was probably handed unwinnable situations in both Iraq and Afghanistan. But that said, subsequent events in both conflicts have served to underscore the growing public impression that his only substantive accomplishment as U.S. military commander was to merely postpone the inevitable.

One might argue that perhaps Petraeus did the best he could under the circumstances, but even that assessment hardly renders him as the second coming of Dwight Eisenhower. Rather, and speaking for myself only, I'd offer instead that the general likely and intentionally misled both Washington policymakers and the American public regarding the reality of the situation as it existed on the ground in both theatres of conflict.

In Jan. 2012, Lt. Col. Daniel Davis, a senior Army officer who had just completed his second tour of duty in Afghanistan, wrote a detailed and scathing whistleblower account to Pentagon brass on the actual conditions there, which he said were deteriorating. He challenged them publicly in an article in Armed Forces Journal that's since been removed, asking them, "How many more men must die in support of a mission that is not succeeding?"

Davis charged that Petraeus had willfully offered self-flattering yet glaringly inaccurate accounts of U.S. military progress in Afghanistan, which he said were consistently full of willful inconsistencies, omissions and outright distortions. He further accused the general of building a so-called "cult of personality" in the American media that was centered entirely upon himself, to the virtual exclusion of other senior commanders and officers then serving under him.

As CIA Director, Gen. Petraeus became the hapless embodiment of the Peter Principle. "Lack of judgment" is an understatement. What he did during the course of his extramarital affair with his own personally commissioned biographer Paula Broadwell was foolishly stupid, because giving her access to his personal e-mail account could have compromised national security. If he's indeed indicted for felony conduct, he has only himself to blame.

    Aloha.
