Senor de los Toneles

Here are some pictures of the inside of the tunnel that went between Chapo's prison shower and the house over a mile away.

Here's one with showing the light:

    He's at his bomb proof (none / 0) (#3)

Ranch in Culican, the one with the jet strip.  It took them 15 years to capture him after the first escape.  He's not a good guy like Pablo Escobar was, but Mexiico loves heroes.  It's impossible to launder one billion dollars, so he's got big rooms somewhere, full of mouldering money.

But he also enjoys being near the Pacific (none / 0) (#5)

    Ocean.

Guzmán was arrested by Mexican authorities in Mexico on February 22, 2014. He was found inside his fourth-floor apartment at 608 Avenida del Mar in the beachfront Miramar condominium in Mazatlán, Sinaloa,[19] and was captured without a gunshot being fired.

    He won't be going (none / 0) (#6)

Back there.  I like it way down in Puerto Escondido, a lovely Oaxacan town on the Pacific, near the Guatemalan border.  He probably won't be vacationing just yet.  Big surf there too, but he doesn't look like a surfer.

The tunnel shown in these pictures (5.00 / 1) (#7)
by Peter G on Wed Jul 15, 2015 at 03:58:48 PM EST
doesn't look anything like the tunnel (almost circular and with a sort of lining, of wider diameter) released a couple of days ago. Not sure I trust any of this.

This is the actual tunnel. (none / 0) (#8)

The others turned out to be huge drain pipes.  In some shots you see three circular pipes abreast.  They are huge.  The area looks dry as a desert.  I've no idea what they're draining.

    Maybe they're for a skateboard park? (5.00 / 1) (#9)

Like, for the prisoners, dude. It could be an awesome way to get them reformed and rehabilitated and ready to return to society.

Possible motto for the skate park: "Half-pipes are better than crack pipes."

    Reporting from Mexico City --

They're calling for rain today, but that's no surprise. Predicting rain on a summer day in Mexico City is like forecasting death in an old-folks home. It's bound to happen.

From springtime to autumn, it rains a lot here. Let me be clear: a lot.

The Mexico City government issues the same monotonous forecast each day: 80% or higher chance of rain. The only suspense is whether it will come with lightning or hail.

Those are Fiberglass Pipes... (none / 0) (#11)
by ScottW714 on Thu Jul 16, 2015 at 04:20:08 PM EST
...you can see the swirl seams.  I am guessing, but don't know those are pipeline sections with the soldier and blanket Photoshopped in, maybe.  In the same photo on other sites, on the edges you can see the black plastic on other pipes that normally wraps around fiberglass pipe.

This is from the WSJ, same pic.  It's pretty hard to tell, but it looks Photoshopped to me, but maybe not.  We make fiberglass pipe for gas/oil.  They would never be open except during construction.

Fiberglass pipe is like toilet paper center, it's a wide strip that is wrapped so the seem isn't straight.

Either way it would never be used for a tunnel.
