Unconfirmed: ISIS Member Publicly Executes His Mother

Multiple news sources are reporting that ISIS militant Ali Saqr al Qasem, on orders from ISIS, publicly shot and killed his mother outside the post office where she worked in Raqqa.

The reason: Al-Qasem had reported his mother for apostasy -- she had encouraged him to leave Raqqa with her. ISIS then ordered him to kill her.

True? I'm dubious, but I suppose it's possible. The source is the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights.

that if he didn't kill her, not only would they have killed her, they'd have killed him, and if he had any other family, would have killed them, too, I'd guess.

So much killing; how is it they haven't managed to kill each other off?  How do they keep track of it all?

Maybe there's an app for that.

But, what about the concept/reality of intrinsic human values? Recognizing that world societies have not been without significant examples of matricide and patricide throughout history and literature, what if the killing had all the same characteristics reported in this matter with one exception--the public execution of one's child? Would any society today condone that under any circumstances?  It is a "what if"; yet, it is a question?
