Everybody's got talent. In Vietnam, voting is open for "Vietnam's Got Talent" on its You Tube channel.

Check out Nguyen Trọng Nhân, a 9 year old boy drumming to Bon Jovi's "It's My Life." The song starts at 1 minute 10 seconds in, and after a sound glitch and some pretty non-impressive vocals by the singer, the boy takes over for the rest of the song. At around 2 minutes in, he really comes into his own. By 2 minutes and 15 seconds, he owns it. There's also an adult drummer, but he can't match the kid drummer. In the last 30 seconds, the adult drummer does a solo finale, but then Trọng Nhân closes, and he knocks it out of the park. The Judges' reaction is priceless. [More...]

Will he win? I have no idea, but I voted for him. (And I don't even watch the American version of the show, let alone vote, I just happened across a news article on Trọng Nhân and clicked through to the video.) Interestingly, had it been autoplay, I would have clicked off before even reading or listening. The media is going to kill itself on auto-play videos. I wonder if it knows how many people log off the instant they realize it's auto-play. It's not only an unwanted sensory intrusion to those of us who prefer to read, it's a throw-in-your-face reminder that the media wants control over both the media we consume and how we consume it. I refuse to give it to them.

I can't remember the last time I've clicked through a CNN, NBC, ABC, MSNBC or AOL or similar article. Like Pavlov's dog, I've been burned too many times with autoplay. And AOL is even worse, their videos for even the most banal news article feature some nobody announcer orally telling the story. Never again.

Vietnam has some interesting talent. I few months ago, I posted this you tube of some random Vietnamese guys (and one female) sitting at an outdoor cafe playing a great rendition of Hotel California -- all singing in English. (It's the guitarist who particularly shines.)

    That was a jam packed episode.  Bran and Max Von Sydow as the three eyed raven.  Tyrion and the dragons.  Lord Greyjoy takes a flying leap. And of course Jon.  

    I hope this is the pace for the season.  It sounds like it might be.  The big (or one big) set Leicester will be the seige of Riverrun.  

    And I'm really really looking forward to The Faith Militant and Bernie Sand...er, I mean the High Sparrow getting their comeuppance.   Hopefully from the dead eyed mountain.

    I would pay a lot to see Cercei deliver one of her wine-fueled speeches.

    I also hope this whole season is just as story-filled. Loved Tyrion with the dragons, as well as seeing Bran again - that tree must be a growth stimulant - and getting the glimpse back to Winterfell history.

    After last week I fully expected Ramsay to do something about that baby, but didn't see the rest of it coming. Is Waldo Frey still alive? Can't remember. He might be the only old guy left now in the north.

    Will it be as joyful as watching Joffrey die? Probably not. As bad as he is Ramsay,  has not yet tormented everyone's favorite character, Tyrion.  

    I have to watch again and hear Tyrion's research about the dragons. I think they just wanted to be let free, and could sense he was not going to hurt them. But maybe there is some bloodline thing going on. I'm bad at all that history.

    Back from Beale Street y'all, if you desire a break from kicking old dog Bernie for some highlights here ya go...

    Mavis Staples...boy was she on her game, voice sounded proud and strong as she had her second home in the palm of her hand from start to finish.  The legend herself pointed right at me and named me an honorary cousin.  

    Neil Young & The Promise of The Real...opened up the set with the most blistering rendition of Down By The River I have ever heard...clocked in at 40 f*ckin' minutes long!!!  I need not say more, but check out Willie's boy Lukas Nelson's band if you can...the gave Neil a grungy feedback run for his money.

    Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats...the rumors are true, if you like your soul music with a driving beat and wail, you best get on it.  They brought the Stax sound to Stax City in a rompin' stompin' way.  Closed with "The Shape I'm In" and I lost my sh*t.  Was ready to collapse but who came next but...

    Paul Simon...the legendary, the unparalleled, the genius of song Mr. Paul Simon.  Might have been the greatest set I've ever seen by any band ever...every muscle in my body ached at that point, but I could not stop dancing to his brand of the world beat.  The most frenzied the crowd got all weekend, so much so he was obligated to do three encores.  Holy f*cking sh*t!!!  No words can accurately describe it, like an out of body religious experience.

    Too many more great musicians to list, so I'll just mention my top 4.  Too many late nights on Beale to see Graceland or Sun Studios, but we did get to The Stax Museum which was really cool.

    Thank you Rock-n-Roll City, I'll see you again next year.

    You were right Ruff, it is a really well done festival.  My only most minor issue is there are 4 main stages and they don't stagger the acts so you're sometimes forced to make tough decisions, not that any of them are bad decisions, but you know what I mean.  I missed half of Luther Dickenson's set for a taste of the Violent Femmes, and I regretted not seeing Dickenson in his entirety.  He brought out this cat named Duwayne Burnside (remember that name!) and they almost burned the Blues Tent down.

    That's why they adopted resolutions in opposition to them. They find it far more comfortable to believe that "real" America still somehow resembles the patriarchal and condescending white society so vividly brought to life in E.L. Doctorow's "Ragtime," which took place at the turn of the 20th century.

    The fact that people of color, women, the labor class and the poor don't share similar fond recollections of their own respective places in the social hierarchy of that particular era, is immaterial to people who were raised with a misbegotten sense of white privilege, and who now cling so desperately to its false premise.

    Going to be interesting to see what happens after tomorrow.  Donald is clearly going to win.  Probably big,  Ted was determined to NOT say on Sunday he would not support him.  He will.  Will he drop out?  Will he be VP?
    I suspect it will get even more odd.
    I also think there will be a buttload of endorsements after Donald wins tomorrow.  And unlike Bernie, Ted wants a future in the party.  He won't make waves.  IMO

    I mostly agree with the chattering class that this was a disaster for Ted.  Where we part ways is on the idea they were "clearly planted there".
    IMO this is more evidence they do not understand what's happening in the country.

    I don't think for a second they were necessarily plants.  I guess they could have been but the fact is the center guy, the one with the most back talk who kept holding up the sign and yelling "Lyin Ted", could totally have been one of my nephews.  His responses were exactly what his would have been.  And he would totally not have needed to be "planted" there.

    Not sure what the base is. It's wonderful though for "older" hair. No nice way to put that. Even for women hair gets thinner and finer.

    I have let my hair go natural because I got a decent salt and pepper. And the powder pumps up the look of your gray if you are fair skinned.

    I have a girlfriend though my age who uses natural henna to dye her grays. She does a beautiful job, deep red, and it's undetectable in her color when she uses it. Only seems to add a sheen to very gray/white hair.

    Your hair has grab though once the powder is in. It'll grab onto itself too much to brush your hair. Washes out easily, but if you try to brush your hair you'll yank a handfull out.

    learned that GA has screwed around with elections and we are having a separate election on May 14th to elect house seats. I guess it was too hard to do it back in March when we had the presidential primary or they didn't want Trump voters deciding who were going to be state senators and legislators.

    ... Republican voters, such as my uncle, who are convinced that Donald Trump is completely unfit for public office. If he doesn't vote for Hillary Clinton, he'll likely decide to leave that portion of his ballot blank or go third-party.

    Now, were I a GOP campaign strategist, those are the people who'll give me more than a few sleepless nights over the coming months, because current polling pegs their disaffected numbers at an alarming 40% of the overall Republican base.

    Even if this number drops by half in the fall, that's still one in five potential GOP voters, some 12-13 million of them, who appear ready to break ranks. That's tantamount to a political disaster in waiting.

    I'm really not worried about Bernie Sanders supporters in general. There are always going to be a few cranks in any election who insist on going their own way, and that's fine. But they speak only for themselves, and not for their movement. The vast majority of Sanders voters know fully well what's at stake this fall. I have every confidence that they'll act accordingly.

    to MSNBC, Michelle Goldberg, questions the claim of superior electablity of Senator Sanders in a Slate article. This is the reason, apparently, for Sander's contested convention notion.  Her questioning is based on the fact that Secretary Clinton has not run negative ads, knowing that this could offend those whose support she will need later; the media not taking serious attention, and Republicans holding back, for now.

    And, here I was worried a wee bit about Sanders' personal attacks on HRC coming back to bite via general campaign ads in the fall.  But now ... there is a doozy courtesy of Mr. Cruz about Mr. Trump ... workable by PACs on behalf of our Democratic presumptive nominee.  In the name-calling race, Cruz left a scathing one because it looks like he used the Trump approach of using a phrase or word that might well fit.

    With Cruz leaving that payback, it is looking today that neither offer nor acceptance is in the cards for any wished for position.

    "walked back."  But, that phrase "pathological liar" accompanied by adding that Trump can't tell the difference between truth and lies ... those words are going to be darn difficult to tone down or walk back.

    I'm wondering whether Ted Cruz is making the choice to back off in a different way.  That is, he may decide that he doesn't want any part of a Trump run because his calculus tells him that as a 43 year old he can afford to bide his time until the next general election cycle. Yes, the basis of that calculus would be that he thinks his present opponent, more likely than not, will be routed worse than Goldwater.  Sort of ironic, but that may be what his cold look at tomorrow's probable outcome means ... and, he is distancing himself as strongly as he can do so.

    I am not even going to try to get into Teds head.  There are things you can't unsee.  But it's very telling IMO that he flatly refused to even respond to the "will you support him" question.
