Medical Updates on Hillary and Trump

Hillary Clinton's doctor has provided this letter with additional details of her medical condition.

Shorter version: She's fit to be President.

Hillary's doctor is a board certified diplomat in internal medicine. Trump's doctor is a gastroenterologist named Harold Bornstein. More here. Who is Bornstein? Here's a photo of Bornstein on the day he wrote the letter attesting to Donald's health, which he later said he wrote in 5 minutes while waiting for a limo. Is anyone surprised Donald Trump announced today he recently had another physical with Dr. Bornstein, who gave him a one page summary which he shared with Dr. Oz, saying he's in good health?

According to various media sources, Trump told Dr. Oz he wants to lose 15 pounds. That's not surprising, given his reported eating habits. [More...]

Bloomberg Politics points out:

The 70-year-old has a body-mass index of about 30 -- which government experts say is on the border between overweight and obese.

Audience members interviewed after the show told reporters Trump said he takes statin medication to control his cholesterol, he doesn't exercise and he likes fast food because he knows what's in it.

As usual, the media and public seem bemused by Trump's latest antic. Should we be worried? I'm not. I think more people are laughing at him than with him -- enjoying the entertainment, without any intention of voting for him.

Make America Great Again?  Pfft, a little slice of Island on the East Coast of America was downright perfect last night, never mind great.  The unmarked NYPD Detective's car circling Shakedown Street never came to a complete stop or locked up any peace-loving salt of the earth Americans (that I witnessed), though I must admit probable cause was in abundance...the stars were aligned!

Everybody understands it; everybody's felt it.  That's the way she should have played this, simple, well grounded, approachable, and believable.

I think Clinton needs a better, close advisor.  She is surrounded by people who believe that they can and must "manage" our perceptions.  This is the purest hubris.  It explains her failures and remoteness and her continued reliance on overarticulated and overthought positions, papers, and policy statements.

Those positions, policies and papers will be little more than shredder fodder when she descends into the chaos and mutually assured madness of the presidency.

Regardless, the next 4 yr=ears will be a divisive maelstrom for this country no matter which candidate wins.

i dont want to get in trouble

i frequently post here refering to Nate Silver's 538 blog analysis and Donald Trump doesnt have the needed states to win the electoral college. those serious "let trump be trump" gaffs late July hurt the independant voter's perception of him as a viable candidate. he never did his much herald "pivot" to presidential-mode. the populist platform his advisors put together was a winning platform but DT never made the post-party-nomination switch to present himself as a presidential figure who could keep his foot out of his mouth. that's obviously just my feelings on the issue but it's slso the wonky poll-crunching reality.

After all I did go to the gym today..  anyway SUO the fishing is starting to pick up down here, even though it's still very warm  here like 91 degrees right now with a water temp of 84.  Strangely there has been an offshore early sailfish bite, with some boats showing 10 to 12 flags when back at the dock.  The little sailfish flags flown on one of the outriggers indicates fish caught and released.  The bonefish and permit, a member of the jack family, will be showing up as soon as the water cools another couple of degrees.  It's also difficult to be out there for long when the air is so hot.  My little skiff has no air conditioning.  How about your fish over in that big ocean?

summers, though there are still plenty of YFT & BFT to be had.

Not as many big Yellowtails and Dorado at the islands as last year either, but plenty of firecracker models to keep your rod bent.

Corbina (our version of bonefish) in the surf continue to be super fun, although the water is starting to chill a little so they'll fade out soon.

This is about the time of year I rotate out of the salt and into the sweet. Big browns will soon be in the Upper Owens from Lake Crowley. And after them, the big rainbows. And after them, the big cutthroat...

tell a joke and make us laugh, he should discuss his tax plan.  Raising the specter of murder, once again, of Mrs. Clinton for political differences shows the unfitness of Trump not only for the presidency, but also, for the human race.

Trump's followers gathered to hear him speak went wild at the suggestion that Mrs. Clinton be stripped of armed protection just to see what happens--interrupting Trump with cheers. Deplorable.

And, deplorable in that the inciting of violence against the person of Mrs. Clinton was based on Trump's lie that "she wants to destroy your Second Amendment."

This call for assassination was not even as feebly subtle or covered up as well as the preventing Supreme Court picks: "If she gets to pick her judges (sic) nothing you can do, folks."..."Although the Second Amendment people--maybe there is, I don't know."

Of course, in keeping with Trump's lies, the call for assassination was a call to mobilize gun owner's votes, and the disarmament of her secret service protection was a joke.  That Trump sure is a laugh-a-minute. But, not in a good way, how many of those deplorables will be looking for approval by just following il Duce Trump's joke?

The people complaining about "false balance" usually seem confident in having discovered the truth of things for themselves, despite the media's supposed incompetence. They're quite sure of whom to vote for and why. Their complaints are really about the impact that "false balance" coverage might have on other, lesser humans, with weaker minds than theirs. Which is not just snobbish, but laughably snobbish

    And true

    Me

dia consumers voting with their eyeballs for ever-dumber political coverage creates the biggest imbalance in reality, but the "false equivalency" debate is mostly over a separate, more parochial issue of journalistic ethics.
The essence of that debate is whether or not it's appropriate to write negative things about Hillary Clinton when there's a possibility that Donald Trump might become president. Or, rather, we may say negative things about Clinton, but only if we always drape reporting in plenty of context about the worse-ness of Trump, or something.
There's not much to say about this debate apart from the fact that it's phony and absurd and that the people shrieking for "balance" are almost always at heart censors who are really concerned with keeping a view of the world with which they disagree out of the news.
