Paddock's Estranged Brother Bruce Arrested in LA on Unrelated Matter

Stephen Paddock's estranged brother (not the one who talked to the press and went to Las Vegas to be interviewed)is in custody on a child p*rn allegation.

Bruce Paddock, 58, was detained at a Los Angeles assisted-living facility, where he was awaiting surgery for spinal stenosis. He had not yet been booked, and no other details were available.

An attorney who Paddock said had represented him in criminal matters in the past told NBC News he is no longer representing Paddock and declined comment.

Bruce had not been in contact with Stephen in 10 years, so I don't see how this is relevant to the Las Vegas shootings, any more than his father's past as a bank robber.

    A laptop computer recovered from the Las Vegas hotel room where Stephen Paddock launched the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history was missing its hard drive, depriving investigators of a potential key source of information on why he killed and maimed so many people, ABC News has learned.

    Paddock is believed to have removed the hard drive before fatally shooting himself, and the missing device has not yet been recovered, sources told ABC News.

    So, somehow, between the time Paddock offed himself, and, the police entering his room,the
    hard drive from his computer goes missing.

    Then, ABC News, disguised as journalists, apparently satisfied they've done their job, call out, "it's a wrap, nothing more to see, news at 11:00."

    But, I figured it out. The hotel mgmt. or, the police, ever aware of LV image, didn't want to show a messy room in the inevitable videos to come, so, they called in room service to tidy up before starting their investigation.

    what? He swallowed it? Pretty sure the autopsy would've found it.

    But, who knows? All I'm saying is, why are we left speculating? Didn't ABC News think, "what happened to the HD?" needed filling in?

    What I'm trying to say is, Paddock's motive is one point of contention. To me, the other one is, why the fractured, convoluted, half-hearted, so-called, "Investigative Journalism" is, so obviously, MIA?

    Tucker Carlson is reporting that Campos left the country right after the shooting and crossed the Mexican border about a week later.  He claims to have a copy of US border crossing paperwork.  While I am waiting for more confirmation about that Tucker also asked the question if Campos was shot in the leg one would think it would be serious enough to preclude driving, especially driving 700+ miles.  That is a good question I would like an answer to, just how serious was the injury.  I have seen a .223 tear half a leg off, and lets not forget there were suppose to be 200 rounds fired.  Not really good marksmanship to only hit the target once in 200 chances.

    He also reported his people called the Las Vegas PD and asked what license is required to work security at a casino resulting in the LEO getting mad and hanging up on him.  The call was a result of not being able to find Campos on the list of licensed security guards.

    While I am cynical about a lot of speculation surrounding the shooting I have to point out the Las Vegas PD (and authorities in general) seem to be screwing the pooch in terms of handling PR.  If authorities knew Campos left the country and hit that fact it is a real black eye.  If they did not know about it is an even worse black eye.  But what ever the case someone (I am looking at you Las Vegas PD) needs to clear up a lot of details.  Not just details about Campos but the shooting in general.

    I really enjoyed the link to the NYT vid about the time line.  It seemed to poke a lot of holes in the Las Vegas PD time line.  But again no confirmation or denial of the NYT time line.  It is well past time the investigators get on the ball and start clearing things up and stop speculation.

    I assume you'd need the computer's IP address, isn't that part of the HD?

    ... would remain the same, except in the very unlikely event he was wired directly to his ISP (i.e. not connected through a router).  In addition to files on his hard drive, his search history could have been preserved by his search engine service (i.e. Google, etc.), his ISP or his router logs (less likely).

    Actually, just read that it's embedded in emails, so maybe they pulled it off his GF's computer.

    I would imagine if you knew his IP address you could then create some kind of digital duplicate and his browser history would be easily accessible.
