Update: Team Swift is not calling any witnesses. (Translation: They didn't feel they needed any. I think they are right.) I'm glad they decided not to call the professor to expound on gender violence. The judge has their motion for judgment as to Taylor Swift (to drop her from the case) under advisement. He'll rule today. Closing arguments will be Monday.

So, what will the jury decide on Mueller's claims? They will obviously know she's been dismissed because they won't be asked to deliberate on her when deciding Mueller's claims. Her mother liable? And will they decide in her favor on her assault counter-claim? Will they give her $1.00 or more? What if Mueller is ordered to pay her legal fees?

David Mueller has rested in the Taylor Swift "groping" trial. The parties are back in court arguing standard motions made at the end of the Plaintiff's case. In this case it is Rule 50.

a) Judgment as a Matter of Law.

(1) In General. If a party has been fully heard on an issue during a jury trial and the court finds that a reasonable jury would not have a legally sufficient evidentiary basis to find for the party on that issue, the court may:

(A) resolve the issue against the party; and

(B) grant a motion for judgment as a matter of law against the party on a claim or defense that, under the controlling law, can be maintained or defeated only with a favorable finding on that issue.

If the motions are denied, it's Taylor Swift's turn to present her side of the case. Her lawyers have said they will call a "gender violence" expert and a forensic computer expert (who will try to debunk Mueller's assertions his computer data was rendered non-recoverable after his devices were damaged.)

Her then-bodyguard testified this morning.
