Sam Nunberg's Late Night Rant to NY Magazine

Sam Nunberg wasn't done when he got off TV Monday night. At 11:30 pm, he called New York Magazine. Here's a transcript.

He thinks Jared stole money from the pile that Brad Parscale got from the campaign for his digital marketing work. He admits he has no evidence of this.

He claims he and Roger Stone were responsible for Trump's win. He hates Lewandowski and Hope Hicks (who he basically said rode Lewandowski's coattails to inch her way up.)

Here's the list of people whose communications he says were sought by Mueller. I wonder why Jared and Parscale weren't on it.

Nunberg has been stewing in resentment for a long time. I read a similar interview with him days before his meltdown. (Haven't found it again yet, I'll update if I do.)

    Sam Nunberg sounds like his (5.00 / 2) (#4)
by Anne on Tue Mar 06, 2018 at 02:14:46 PM EST
    hinges are a bit loose.

I'm just finding it almost inconceivable that anyone could have that much loyalty to Roger Stone, but it makes me think that Nunberg knows that Stone knows some really damaging stuff.

    Whatever.

While everyone's glued to the show going on in the main ring, off to the side the Trump administration is futzing around with birth control and weakening EPA rules on water, and there's a trial going on about Krazy Kris Kobach's Election Commission, which is desperately trying to require people to show proof of citizenship in order to vote, we are short on ambassadors, Tillerson's doing nothing about preparing for Russian meddling.  Post-Parkland, things are going the way they always do: nowhere.

And so on.  But no worries, Sarah Sanders tells us that Trump is the Best President Ever and NO COLLUSION!!!   And the women are all liars.

Oh, and just curious, but when's the last time we heard the Dems offer some kind of plan or ideas or anything?  Oh, wait - I see that several of the not-really-Democratic Dems - Heitkamp and Tester and a couple others will be voting to weaken those finance rules that came out of the 2008 meltdown.  Swell, thanks so much.

Makes me wonder: will they manage to blow this in November?

Yes, I'm cranky; must be channeling Nunberg...

Democrats have proposed lots of things. (5.00 / 2) (#6)
by Donald from Hawaii on Tue Mar 06, 2018 at 05:44:08 PM EST
Anne: "Oh, and just curious, but when's the last time we heard the Dems offer some kind of plan or ideas or anything?"

And many of those proposals are both well thought and data-driven. But honestly, Anne, how can boring stuff like policy development compete in the media with the Express Train to Crazytown, and salacious tales of adult film stars being paid off to keep silent, and a first lady who desperately looks like she wants to be anyplace else except where she is, presidential sons who appear to be the real-life equivalent of Sonny and Fredo Corleone, and of course, the daily flurry of presidential tweets sent each morning from the White House loo?

Short answer is, it can't, not in this day of newstainment. So, don't depend on the media to provide you with the sort of policy information you need to make a responsible choice at the polls. Not when there's all sorts of colorful characters and issues and shiny objects to distract the starry-eyed likes of Wolf Blitzer, Gloria Borger and the Morning Joe crew, who are enamored with their own celebrity. You'll have to search for it yourself. But rest assured, it's out there waiting to be found and persused, just as it was during Hillary Clinton's late presidential campaign -- bu-bu-bu-but for HER EMAILS!!!

    Aloha.

someone - other than Donald Trump, who lies - who could tell you what Democrats support, what their vision is, what their plans are.

In fact, there is very little reporting on what the GOP is actually managing to accomplish via the various departments and via executive orders - the media is so wrapped up and invested in the various components of the Mueller investigation and Stormy Daniels that they are shorting the public on things they need to know are happening - things that should set people's hair on fire.

Yes, I know Dems are being thwarted at every turn, that in some cases, they aren't even being allowed to bring legislation to the floor for debate.  But if they can't work the Congress, why can't they work all forms of media?  Something tells me there are still a bunch of old-school, old politicos in charge of strategy - they should do a sit-down with the kids from Parkland - pretty sure they could teach them a few things about working the various social media platforms.

Mike Konczal in the NYT asks, "Why Are Democrats Helping Trump Dismantle Dodd-Frank?"  An excellent question about something that is happening in relative obscurity while the media keeps losing its mind over Trump (which is not to say there aren't reasons to lose one's mind over Trump, but the media needs to come up for air once in a while).

And the kicker?  Dems aren't getting anything for their support of this bill.  And this is why, talk of a Blue Wave in November notwithstanding, I worry that Dems will find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

You know what?  You have to watch to really know.

    For example.

This morning there was about a 1 hour segment of crocodile tears for Sam Nunberg and all the poor "innocent" folks "swept up in" the Mueller investigation.

Seriously.  Are you f-ing kidding me?  Sam Nunberg and his father figure and mentor Roger Stone built their career on driving innocent bystanders into bankruptcy by starting and promoting endless pointless BS "investigations" from troopergate to Benghazi.

F-ing spare me.  It's good in these days of shared outrage to remember exactly who is who.

that Homeland would be a much better show without Claire Danes.

So many weeks nwo, with so many good shows on Sunday nights, I find that I watch the others but save Homeland for a different night, when I run out of other choices so submit myself to her overacting. I also find that I am keeping my iPad at hand to do a crossword or some other game during her scenes.

A small armed quarrel with North Korea and everything will be okay. And Mattis and Tillerson crock blocked him. I don't know what command they will give McMaster, but he could end up supporting Bolton. So Mattis will try to put him someplace where he can't support Bolton from a command position (commanding combat troops). That likely means McMaster is about to become my spouses boss.
