Joe Biden has a new gimmick -- he may not only decide to run but he is considering Stacy Abrams as a VP candidate.
Memo to Dems: Stop funding Joe. He is not Obama. He's a crime warrior, especially on drugs. He's got a lousy record on criminal justice issues and has stuck us with some of the worst bills of the last generation. He once bragged in Congress he was tougher than George Bush I on crime. He is a police fan-boy. He's a one-man crime band.
Joe Biden is the self-admitted architect of the worst crime bills in history.
The 1994 crime bill provided tens of billions of dollars to put thousands of additional police on the streets, build new prisons, increase border protection, and fund crime prevention programs. It included several measures — including the Violence Against Women Act and a federal ban on certain assault weapons — that remain popular among many Democrats.

But it also eliminated Pell Grants for prison inmates, criminalized gang membership, contained $9.7 billion in funding for new prisons, established a three-strikes provision that mandated life sentences for people with two or more prior convictions found to have committed a violent felony, and gave states incentives to lengthen sentences.
He also drafted or co-sponsored legislation "that created the federal 'drug czar' and mandatory minimum sentencing for marijuana and the sentencing disparity for crack and powder cocaine." Even in 2014, he opposed legalization of marijuana.
We cannot forgive or forget Joe Biden's record on crime in the 1990's. Here's a Biden quote to Congress in 1995 when pushing for habeas limits, bragging about "the Biden bill" and how it authorized the death penalty that can be used for the Oklahoma City Bomber:
My colleagues on the Republican side of the aisle have repeatedly said in this bill that we must do something to ensure swift punishment of those who committed the Oklahoma City bombing. That is supposedly why, you might wonder, in a terrorism bill there is habeas corpus.
Well, the constant argument put forward is, look, we have to do this because once we find the person who did this awful thing in Oklahoma and they are convicted and sentenced to death, the death penalty must be carried out swiftly. I might add, a bill that the Presiding Officer and I voted for, the Biden crime bill, is the only reason there is a death penalty. Had we not voted for that bill, had that not passed last year, this finding of a person who committed the bombing, that person under Federal law would not be eligible to be put to death. There is no question that because of the action you and I and others took last year there is a death penalty now. So unlike the World Trade Tower, no death penalty would be there under Federal law had we not passed the Biden crime bill then.
The only crime bill we need now is a three strikes law that keeps Joe Biden from running for President for the third time.
Democrats can do so much better.
Memo to Biden: You are almost 80 years old. It's time to write your memoirs, not run for President. Let the Dems unify around a progressive candidate with a chance of winning. Look in the mirror. That person is not you.
Another habit he has that makes me turn off the TV when he's on: he inserts his mother in every speech. Enough already. Talk about all of us, the American people. I could go on and on, and if he's in the primary race I will.
Bottom line: I'm not voting for an 80 year old to be President. It makes the likelihood we end up with a Veep for President much greater, and it is voting for a one term candidate, which will give the Republicans a leg up in 2024.
