Biden-Harris About to Cross the Finish Line

Update 7:40 pm: CNN just interviewed Richard Barrett, the head of vote counting somewhere in Georgia. He was the best, most composed, intelligible guest all night (even though the guy interviewing him was a jerk. He asked, "Are all of these ballots legal?" Like the guy would say no?) He was also very nice looking. And he managed to keep repeating the word "adjudcated" like it was sexy or something. I hope he gets promoted.

New numbers in Maricopa, AZ increase Joe Biden's lead the state.

Biden is also ahead in Nevada, and those two states are all he needs, according to John King. Biden does not need PA. And he may take Georgia for good measure.

Anderson Cooper had the worst guests and pundits tonight. Rick Santorum? Really? Please. And Van Jones. Then there was the woman with the mask who kept trying to read the new vote totals for AZ and was so awful she flubbed three times and then announced she's not good at math. Is that a joke? Hiring someone who can't read a string of six numbers without blowing it multiple times? (CNN kept going to her for hours, and she gave up on giving us numbers and insisted on giving us a tour of the parking lot with about 20 protesters. Every time the anchor kept trying to rein her in and get her back to numbers, she just doubled down on trying to get people scared of the scary (not) protesters (Added: Chris Cuomo also went to her at midnight and after about a minute of her telling him she just had to everyone the back door and parking lot and how she was scared about how she'd get out of the building, he asked her about the numbers. She pretended not to hear him and went back to pretending a riot was about to occur. She gets my Media Horse's A*s award for the night -- tied with Rick Santorum.

MSNBC was not much better. They have a really high-strung annoying numbers guy at the map.

The only two I'm listening to are Wolf Blitzer and John King. (until midnight when Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon come on).

Don't even bother reading Donald Trump's lawsuits. They have no chance. Just a last-gasp of hot air from Trump enabler Rudy Giuliani.

I can't wait to see Ivanka, Jared, and Don Jr. take their final walk across the White House lawn to a waiting private helicopter. I doubt any of these three blind mice will ever return to Washington, let alone run for office. Ivanka and Jared will probably have their house up for sale before Thanksgiving. Kimberly will probably tell Don, Jr. to take a hike. Maybe Fox will take her back.

New York Times: "After the Biden camp secured victories in Michigan and Wisconsin critical to its path to victory on Wednesday, attention shifted on Thursday to a handful of states where the result remained too close to call and to the courts, where the Trump campaign filed a barrage of lawsuits challenging the validity of the count."

"The vote counting created mirror-image dramas across the United States: Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. clung to a dwindling lead against President Trump in Arizona, while in Georgia and Pennsylvania, Mr. Biden slowly eroded Mr. Trump's leads, as the ballots were counted."

"Georgia and Pennsylvania are expected to release another round of results Thursday morning, with Arizona expected to release more results later in the day, along with Nevada, where Mr. Biden leads by less than 8,000 votes."

THe way the candidates are chosen must be changed. On election days one is to often presented a binary choice between bad alternatives.  My suggestion:  A gang of 1000 elected officials (Congress, Governors, Mayors of largest cities) votes in July.  The top 10 from that election are subjected to a popular vote in September. If no one get a majority in that election (most likely) the runoff between the top two in November determines the next President.  Back in 2016, Trump wouldn't have gotten past the first step.

Nationally it looks like there is going to be about an 8% margin from the 9-10% national margin they predicted and the 2-3% its going to end up being.  For perspective that's about an 11M vote swing.  That's missing the mark by a state the size of Ohio.  That's not a small delta.

I'm not saying they should be perfect, but to ChuckO's point not one poll had Collins winning, most didn't have it close.
