There is no way to describe Donald Trump's pardon choices this week as anything but repulsive.

Instead of extending a second chance to those who turned their lives around, were remorseful and deserving of mercy, he made a mockery of the entire concept.

Donald Trump is thumbing his nose at America for giving him his pink slip. He will forever be known as the most corrupt man to every sit at a desk in the oval office.

The good news is Donald Trump has been un-Presidented. And he knows it. I heard him say on the news today that something will be the job of the next Administration. Finally, he admits he's toast. That makes me happy enough to shrug off the disgraceful things he will do in his last month. [More...]

Donald Trump was never my President. Not once in the last four years have I used that word to describe him. In one month, he will be no one's President. He'll be a defeated old man, left with a ton of legal problems and even more in legal bills. And New York DA Cyrus Vance will be in his rear-view mirror .

The investigation by Mr. Vance, a Democrat, has focused on Mr. Trump’s conduct as a private business owner and whether he or employees at his family business, the Trump Organization, committed financial crimes. It is the only known criminal inquiry into the president.

Deutsche Bank is no longer in his pocket, as the recent resignations of his banker there showed. Deutsche Bank reportedly wants to cut ties with him, and he has huge loans outstanding that come due in 2023, which he personally guaranteed.

Donald Trump has never done anything but abuse his power and try to advance his personal interests. He's just a dishonorable human being.

Donald Trump is like this bug I saw on the outside of my window. Only unlike the bug, Donald Trump has been squished.

Donald Trump will never be happy. Donald Trump will never be globally respected. And in one month, we get to scrape his sh*t right off our shoes.

In his first radio interview since being pardoned, Roger spoke told WABC that he plans to sue Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (N-NY) for defamation.
He also made the case for President Trump to pardon Julian Assange.

I would be happy if that is the worst of it.

Difficult I know but try. For 4 years you have debased and humiliated yourself on an almost daily basis. You have defended his "unique style of leadership". You have protected him from being removed from office. All this because you think his base is your base. Now, because you will not support a clearly treasonous and illegal act he turns that very base against you.

Trump ramped up his criticism of Senate Republicans over their unwillingness to aid his efforts to overturn the election.
Said Trump: "If a Democrat Presidential Candidate had an Election Rigged & Stolen, with proof of such acts at a level never seen before, the Democrat Senators would consider it an act of war, and fight to the death. Mitch & the Republicans do NOTHING, just want to let it pass. NO FIGHT!"

I gotta say this is evil genius stuff. Not only is there no good choice there is no acceptable choice for them.

I'm starting to think Trump is serious about burning it down. I wasn't at first. But why not. From his point of view.

If they don't give him what he wants, disaster. For the country and for the Republican Party. He is siding with Dems position in the two senate races. Every MAGA is going to blame Mitch (but no longer Lindsey) if they don't get $2000 for Christmas.

If they do they will lose the other half of their base who more than anything don't want to help poor people or any people who need help And they look completely helpless and impotent.

I think Trump is going to destroy the party. He is going to force a split. That's already being discussed by both sides in the party.

It does not ease the suffering of those who need it but at least this is one time republicans are going to suffer right along with their victims

Was brutal for Trump and brutal for republicans. Toomey (Flynn didn't commit a crime) said some dumb things that are being repeated but overall the coverage of the covid bill and the shutdown was brutal and honest. It was coverage that could have been on MSNBC or CNN. In other words it was mostly honest.

Loeffler and Perdue are now trying to run with Biden saying they will work with Biden. They are pathetic and must think we are stupid and haven't paid attention to what they have been doing the entire time they have been in Washington. Perdue refused to work with Obama. the Eastern District of Texas, which has been the go-to venue for crackpot Republican lawsuits, such as seeking to invalidate DACA and the ACA. The latter two cases were successful (in that court), btw. That's the kind of judges who sit there. Don't count on this case being dismissed immediately.

is correct. The suit does not put Pence in that position, because he was sued (the article says) in his "official capacity" only, not personally. What position to take, in that situation, is up to the Department of Justice, that is, ultimately, the Tr*mp-appointed Acting Solicitor General or even the Acting Attorney General. It is an official legal policy decision for the Administration, not a personal or political decision for Pence to make.

I have enjoyed the new freedom to potty mouth on cable.

I remember the prim and proper Dana Bash on CNN describing the presidential debate as a s*itshow. Without the asterisk.

I thought, yeah. That's exactly what it was. I found it sort of refreshing.
