Correction: This is an old photo not a photo from yesterday's superbowl of Bon Jovi congratulating Tom Brady after a game. Criticism for his being maskless has been removed, sorry Jon, I'll buy another bottle of Hampton Water to make up for the error (Although I'd really like you to get rid of that glass cork -- it's a disaster on nail polish and really hard to get out of the bottle.)
It is just mind-boggling that so many people have had to postpone important life events like weddings, funerals, holidays with family, but Americans are willing to risk another surge for of all things, a ball game?
Governor Polis and every other governor should immediately impose a 14 day quarrantine for the next two weeks on all incoming air travelers from the state of Florida. The State of Florida is now a huge superspreader and other than keeping it sealed off from other states, there's no way for the rest of us to be safe.
According to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins, the United States has lost more lives -- 460,000 and rising -- to the coronavirus than any other country in the world. More than 27 million people in the U.S. have been infected with the virus, again, more than any other country on the planet and 25% of the world's total number of cases, which now stands at 107 million.
The Superbowl should have been cancelled. Everyone knew it would be a repeat of the super-spreaders that set the country back months on Memorial Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving and of course, who could forget Sturgis? How spineless are Florida's leaders?
If we really want to get rid of this virus, the country needs to shut down, not open up. Life is a commodity far more precious than money and we need to treat it as such.
