Numbers of cases are rising in several states, and Colorado is still considered high risk. Yesterday, the Colorado Dept. of Public Health reported 1 n 81 Coloradans are presently infected with COVID.
After watching so many (mostly young) Americans flout the rules starting last Memorial Day, does anyone trust them to tell the truth when they enter your elevator and you ask if they've been vaccinated?
I think another Memorial Day will tell the story. Another Sturgis, beach partiers in Virginia and Florida, and then the outdoor concerts, and Boulder, CO. By the fourth of July, those over 70 will probably be told to lock down except for groceries and medical appointments. For everyone else, it will be party on.
Moving on: I think the Republican party has joined a cult. They are going to follow their unelected leader to the bitter end. They may all fall down the rabbit hole together. Trump will become the Wizard of Oz and Rudy and Matt Gaetz will be the Pied Pipers leading their throngs of followers to Oz' house. Of course, Oz will be not be there, he lost his marbles long ago. All the crowd will find are three incompetent petulant spoiled children pulling the strings of their marionette father, repeating what they heard him say in the past.
Anything that touches Donald Trump turns to rust immediately. He thinks if he causes enough division in the Republican Party, he becomes the spoiler and will be awarded the leadership role by default, which of course means he will insist his children carry on his tarnished legacy and become candidates for positions for which they are devoid of qualifications.
Donald Trump reminds me of spoiled garbage at this point. My instinct when his name appears in print is to hold my nose. Spoiled garbage is rotten, no matter whose it is and what part of the country the landfill it lays in is located.
