The Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol has concluded its investigation and released its report.

The Committee referred Donald Trump to the Justice Department for prosecution of four crimes.

Obstruction of an Official Proceeding (18 U.S.C. § 1512©
Conspiracy to Defraud the United States (18 U.S.C. § 371)
Conspiracy to Make a False Statement (18 U.S.C. §§ 371, 1001)
“Incite,” “Assist” or “Aid and Comfort” an Insurrection (18 U.S.C. § 2383)

DOJ is already conducting a grand jury investigation into Trump's actions and has appointed a special prosecutor.

The referral does not mean DOJ has to indict Trump. If it does, I'm sure he will drag it out as long as possible and continue to deny any culpability.

that the J6 Committee has made referrals to DoJ for apparent violations by Tr*mp of the four laws that you listed, the Exec Summary, I see, also states (p. 85) that the Committee found sufficient grounds to believe that Tr*mp also violated two other statutes, 18 USC 372 and 2384, and has made referrals on that basis as well. Those are two of the other conspiracy statutes under which some of the Oath Keepers were convicted, conspiracy to prevent by force a federal officer holder from taking office or performing their duties, and seditious conspiracy. And to spell it all out more clearly, the "false statements," obstruction of an official proceeding, and "conspiracy to defraud" accusations are based on the goofball Eastman "alternate electors" scheme. That's why the referrals also include Eastman and his lawyer buddy Ken Chesebro, as well as Giuliani and Meadows for conspiracy to defraud the U.S.

are going overboard with the both sides stuff about how it's not a good idea to release them. Before they have any idea what is in them.

a personal financial statement. Even if entirely honest and complete, it will not ordinarily reveal the sources of income items, who owns the debts, etc. Just the total figures in categories.

Not not was he lying every time he said he was "under audit" but they never even did the audits they are required to do of a presidents taxes.

The Democratic-led House Ways and Means Committee voted Tuesday to publicly release six years of former President Trump's tax returns.
Why it matters: The returns will give new details on the former president's personal finances that he for years tried to block -- and come as he seeks another White House bid and is entangled in a number of separate investigations.
Driving the news: It's not immediately clear how quickly the House committee may release the returns, which will provide details on some of his tax payments, financial obligations and donations to charity.
