Clarence Thomas calls out John Roberts as Supreme Court edges closer to overturning Roe v. Wade

Thomas' blunt remarks suggest new antagonism toward Roberts and added to the uncertainty regarding the ultimate ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, expected by the end of June.

Roberts, with his institutionalist approach, is positioned as the one justice who might generate a compromise opinion that stops short of completely overturning Roe v. Wade, at least this year. That would thwart an outcome that Thomas has worked toward for decades.

Her Republican opponent, Mike Erickson, has campaigned on a "strict anti-abortion platform" and supports rolling back women's reproductive freedoms. Yet, in 2008, a woman came forward stating that Erickson gave her $300 and drove her to the abortion clinic for an abortion.

A Trump-endorsed Republican candidate for Michigan state representative said this week that she would vote in favor of legislation banning all contraception, which she said is against God's "moral order."

A composite of every Republican politician that has made statements against any form birth control needs to be presented in an ad...The Republicans want to control every aspect of your life.

Several Republicans in state houses have put forth bills to make it a criminal offense for a women to have an abortion. While these have not passed, they have been presented in several states. A list of all these bills along with the sponsors of the bill should be broadcasted throughout the states. Make these politicians and their statements the face of the Republican Party.

 Ms. Bolick, who is now running for Arizona Sec. of State on a platform "to restore election integrity" thanked Ginni for reaching out, writing "hope you and Clarence are doing great." Shawna's husband, Clint, once worked with Clarence Thomas and now sits on the Arizona Supreme Court.

Gini's efforts in Arizona were part of a broader and integral role played with top Trump officials, including Mark Meadows and Jared, so as to get state legislators to send bogus slates of electors in the scheme to overthrow the duly elected government.  

In the Court case of the John Eastman (a former clerk of Clarence Thomas) subpoena of the "coup memo", federal judge Carter described this scheme as a criminal conspiracy to interfere with Congressional action and to defraud the American people.   Gini was involved in a parallel effort to get Arizona to improperly cast aside the vote results.

The Supreme Court, comprised of just nine, un-elected members, has, essentially, veto power over the president of the United States and the rest of the executive branch as well as veto power over the Congress.  Article Three of the Constitution provides great authority and responsibility to the Supreme Court.

 While spouses of all elected officials need to be cognizant of not only conflicts of interest, it is imperative to the nature of the Supreme Court that spouses (as well as the justices themselves) avoid or have no conflicts.

 In my view, spouses of S.C. justices forfeit their own independent career pathways, and without question-- political activism that trades on the justice's position and influence.  If that is too much to ask, then both Justice and spouse need to find another line of work.

In Clarence's case, Gini being part of a gang to overthrow the government, requires Clarence to  do more than have an ethical compass for conflicts, but to resign.

With Cawthorn headed for the exit after the November midterm election where he will not be on the ballot, he posted on Instagram that he doesn't plan to go quietly, writing, "I am on a mission now to expose those who say and promise one thing yet legislate and work towards another, self-profiteering, globalist goal. The time for genteel politics as usual has come to an end. It's time for the rise of the new right, it's time for Dark MAGA to truly take command. We have an enemy to defeat, but we will never be able to defeat them until we defeat the cowardly and weak members of our own party. Their days are numbered. We are coming."

Face it, a large percentage of cops are cowards. Plain and simple. It's why they are so quick to kill unarmed citizens. Or even people under-armed (knives/clubs). The go to work everyday scared. And they stayed scared all day.

I saw it first hand with my own father. He was a bully and a coward. He became a cop after retiring from the US Navy.

On the far-right Georgia congresswoman's most recent broadcast of "MTG Live," the streaming broadcast that airs on her social media page, Greene claimed that the government wants "surveillance on every part of your life," including on when people are eating a cheeseburger. "Which is very bad because Bill Gates wants you to eat this fake meat that grows in a peach tree dish so you'll probably get a little zap inside your body that'll say 'No, don't eat a real cheeseburger, you need to eat the fake burger,'" Greene said with conviction.

For the rest of us mere mortals a transition involves having the transition end state ready and waiting.  Biden's transition is like jumping out of an airplane at 30,000 feet with a plan to invent, fabricate and deploy a parachute before hitting the ground.

Transitions take time. Biden's energy policy, the "incredible transition" has resulted in Diesel fuel up 75% in the last two years.

Right now virtually every farm tractor and harvester, truck tractor, and rail locomotive run on Diesel. What's the plan to transition these vital components to another fuel?  Nothing, nada, zip.

Nearly the same with aircraft. No plan to wean them from fossil fuel.

Biden talked about making military vehicles electric.  Since Diesel has better that 20X the energy density of lithium batteries, what was a unit of battle tanks with a fuel truck will have the fuel truck replaced with twenty or so flat bed trucks hauling huge batteries. Or maybe the plan is to have the fuel truck tow a generator and burn Diesel to take a few hours to recharge the tanks.

It was not immediately clear how sweeping the reach of the circuit court's ruling will be because a formal opinion from the panel is still forthcoming. But it could have a serious impact on the Senate race. Oz and McCormick were separated by about 1,100 votes as of Friday afternoon, and the ruling could introduce into the pool an as-yet-unknown number of similarly-situated ballots that would not have initially been counted.

If this means Oz loses Trump will freak.  He will singlehandedly destroy any chance of republicans wining that race.

Anaheim mayor resigns amid corruption probe into his role in Angel Stadium land sale - "Two prominent Orange County political leaders resigned within 24 hours of each other amid fallout from a sprawling federal public corruption investigation linked to the proposed sale of Angel Stadium and allegations that a secretive 'cabal' controlled Anaheim's politics."

It should really come as no surprise to longtime observers of Orange County, CA politics that the shady-looking deal that Anaheim city officials and select businessmen brokered with Los Angeles Angels owner Art Moreno for the sale of the valuable city-owned Angel Stadium property to the Major League Baseball franchise turned out to be exactly that -- shady.

Anaheim Mayor Harry Sidhu, who's a Republican, has resigned his office after he was accused of bribery, fraud, obstruction of justice and witness tampering in a sprawling federal public corruption investigation linked to the city's proposed sale of Angel Stadium.

And lest Democrats chortle too loudly, it should be noted that his resignation comes 24 hours after Melahat Rafiei, who was likewise swept up in the burgeoning scandal, announced she was stepping down as a member of the Democratic National Committee and secretary of the California Democratic Party.

It's lookin' pretty ugly at the Big A when the team's otherwise stellar play on the field this season is being overshadowed by the corrupt shenanigans of their owner and various public officials.

Definitely didn't think about war or guns or theocratic totalitarianism for several hours.
