Michael Jackson: Accuser's Mother Admits Lying Under Oath

Trial Update
April 15, 2005

As expected, the mother of the current accuser self-destructed today under cross-examination. For one thing, she admitted lying under oath twice in her previous lawsuit.

"The mother of Michael Jackson's young accuser acknowledged Friday that she twice lied under oath in a lawsuit as the singer's lead defense attorney fired a fast-moving barrage of questions meant to portray her as the mastermind behind bogus molestation charges."

"The furious exchange between attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. and the witness - bouncing from lighter subjects like leg waxing to grim references to spousal abuse - prompted Judge Rodney S. Melville to chide them both. Melville struck so many comments from the record during cross-examination that he stopped testimony at one point to explain to jurors the significance and consequences of his actions."

Self-destructed is our word, not the media's. The battle continues Monday.

Update: Larry King has been supboenaed by the Jackson defense - reportedly over conversations he had with the current and former accuser's lawyer, Larry Feldman - which may be detrimental to the accuser's mother's credibility.

And yet Nancy Graceless finds her entirely credible and attacked her own guests for saying the woman really hurt the prosecution case. Why doesn't her head explode

Are there any prosecution witnesses who don't deserve to be in prison themselves, or at least to spend a few centuries on a particularly sordid level of hell, for their various acts or morally culpable omissions? And why is this woman "taking the Fifth" in relation to her welfare fraud, but not in relation to her perjury? Is it that the local prosecutor only has jurisdiction over the welfare fraud, and would have a hard time keeping an implied promise not to prosecute her for that crime if she were to confess on the stand? I am not without sympathy for a prosecutor who believes a defendant to be guilty, and has nothing but unsavory witnesses to use in order to advance that theory. But at a certain point I am left to wonder whether even the prosecutor believes the current charge, and is seeking a "conviction at any cost" out of the belief in one or more of the past charges.

Jackson Did it, the fact is if the guy didn't do the acts, he would have never paid out $20,000,000 million big ones. but a good deal of this is race based, and Completely insane, but normal in the empire of nut's.

What is disturbing is that the public will not forgive Jackson for this even if he is fully admonished. The media is too far into portraying Jackson as a pedophie. In fact, the mainstream media never reports any of the errors they continuously report on Jackson over the years. And then there is Nancy Graceless-I agree with What a Load on her continuous bashing of MJ and a complete disregard for the facts. It is media like this that will continue to portray Jackson as a pedophile. I only wish Jackson could really put these people in their place. Assuming Jackson is innocent, how can he get justice for the damage that has been done to his reputation for over 12 years? Yup... Thats right, Sneddon has had 12 years to come up with a case and it looks like hes relying on mentally unstable to get a guilt verdict.

Look, there's something just strange about a 45 year old man who dresses like Captain Crunch (as Chris Rock says) sleeping with young boys. If I did the same thing, I bet prosecutors would go after me. Hell, my neighbors would probably push to have me evicted from my apartment complex. Lets face it, there are some societal taboos that when broken, are going to attract negative attention, especially from people in law enforcment. Of course, this doesn't mean Jackson should go to jail, especially if he didn't molest anyone, but it does mean he should probably focus on the wellbeing of his own children, and stop sleeping around with other people's kids.

this case is becoming more like theatre of the absurd every day. obviously, um, not exactly good testimony for the prosecution. after this, now i think there's a decent chance he could skate, but it's still such a tough call because of his bizzaro celebrity and the crapshoot of who the jurors are.

The best thing about this trial for Michael is that he looks a little better sitting there well dressed and silent than he would be if he were allowed to talk. I also think we are doing a disservice to our children by convincing ourselves that people who look strange or funny are guilty of something... wouldn't it be so easy if all pedophiles wore makeup and dressed funny. This is a horrible thought, but how many children are being molested RIGHT NOW by men living in their own homes while the moms sit in front of the TV soaking up the Jacko trial or reading about how creepy he is in the enquirer. Regardless, the boy/bed thing has to go. Mike - if someone needs help just send them a check for God's sake! You can't go back and pretend you're 10 no matter how much money you have.

mfox, How many children were molested by Catholic priests and the collective law enforcement response has been a shrug? The Catholic church has thousands of molestation accusations against priests, admits there are thousands of accusations, and where are the grand juries?

Agreed, A.J. There is a lot of collective denial abut this problem. LoL as a child of extremely religious Catholic parents (mass every day, alter boy brothers, front row on Sundays, etc) I have to admit I wasn't shocked by the scandal. There had always been a subcurrent among the kids of "don't hang around too long after mass". On the other hand, I feel for the occasional priest I see walking about town in his collar and try to say a nice respectful hello, since I think everyone says "there goes a pedofile". However the history of the Catholic Papacy implies that this problem goes all the way up to the top and a long ways back in history. Cardinal Law (of Boston fame - yes I'm in the midst of the worst of the scandal) was disgraced in Boston for his coverup of molestation then spirited away to Rome and embraced (no pun intended) by the senior leadership.
