Missing Documents

by TChris

In July, members of the Bush administration reviewed files at the National Archives concerning Judge Roberts' writings on affirmative action. Now, when Senate Democrats want to review the files, they've gone missing. The National Archives staff is taking the heat for the "clerical error," and claim they can reconstruct the file, but a suspicious mind might wonder why documents concerning a contentious issue disappeared after the administration reviewed them.

Isn't Roberts's anti affirmitive action stance already well-established from other sources? Good thing the Archives were able to reconstruct the file anyway; I look forward to seeing Ted Kennedy and friends attack equal treatment toward all races while trying not to say they support quotas.

Maybe someone should ask Sandy Berger to check his underwear one last time? But seriously, this is stupid. I would have thought after Berger that people in DC would know that these things are catalogued and cannot simply vanish.

Missing documents = dog ate my homework. You would think with so much experience obstructing and lying that our executive branch would have more creativity or new excuses.

The apologists haven't read the articles. The staff is not to blame -- the two WH representatives who stole the documents are, and their (anonymous) offer to help staff 'reconstruct' the documents is HILARIOUS. WHO are the two WH operatives who stole the files? And what were they covering up? Roberts is a hardcore ideologue. The proof of his hateful rhetoric is being erased by the goon squad, but the truth is that needing such extreme measures as an obvious theft they didn't get away with is PROOF of the dirt in his written record.
