He picked the wrong county to do this shooting in, assuming he did it, because it is one of the most conservative in the state.
Now that Arkansas has him in jail, one can bet that the state will be seeking the death penalty. Then Massachusetts will get its chance to try him. In the past, homicide fugitives captured in Arkansas after a killing here get sentenced to death here and never go home. The shooting in Massachusetts will certainly be an aggravating circumstance going toward the death penalty in Arkansas.
And he's only 18 years old. In his picture in the Globe's posting today, he almost looks harmless.
Update: The shooter died from gunshot wounds to the head at 3:38 a.m. in a Springfield MO hospital.
