Keith Richards: Drugs Aren't Strong Enough Any More

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards talks to the Sun about the quality of today's drugs:

HELLRAISER Keith Richards says he has finally given up drugs -- because they don't give him Satisfaction any more. The Rolling Stones guitarist complained dealers and chemists have reduced the power of his favourite narcotics. And he doesn't like modern drugs like ecstasy because they "mess with the brain". Former heroin addict Keith, 62, moaned: "I really think the quality's gone down.

"All they do is try and take the high out of everything.

"I don't like the way they're working on the brain area instead of just through the blood system. "That's why I don't take any of them any more. "And you're talking to a person who knows his drugs."

    Double up on the dose!

He cetainly can't be talking about pot, which is much more potent than it used to be. From wine to whiskey. Oh wait, pot's a PLANT, that's right.

Dang, forgot again, last post by Dadler.

Kieth, baby, it isn't that the drugs are weaker, it's that you need more to get you as high. It's called tolerance.

How can you not take Keith's word for it? I sure wouldn't question the "living labratory". But surely he's not talking about reefer...I see no potency problems with my favorite plant.

That is one tough mother of a liver!

The guy will outlive us all...I'm tellin you. That's some good stock.

Translation: "Kids these days! Don't know the value of an honest day's work. What's wrong with these underground chemists and drug dealers? No craft? No pride in their trade? Bah. In my day it was uphill both ways to the corner drug dealer. You had to go to him because there weren't these newfangled "cell phones." Tinfoil rationing didn't end until 1978, so we used lambskin. And that's the way it was, and we liked it!"

he doesn't like modern drugs like ecstasy because they "mess with the brain". Previous versions never did that.

You know it's bad when Keith Richards says the drugs aren't worth doing anymore! Wish some of my DUI clients would take the same stance on alcohol that Keith takes on drugs. DUI Help

I think he means the LSD -- maybe Willie Nelson can get him some mushrooms instead
