Rumsfeld Won't Resign

Looks like it's not going to happen. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld today said he is not thinking of resigning and Bush has reiterated his support of him in recent days. He also addressed Bob Woodward's book allegations.

He said he had spoken to Bush since the book's contents were made public. Bush "called me personally," said Rumsfeld, to voice support.

Just proves he has no decency....if you're doing a crappy job at work, you're usually AWARE you're doing a crappy job...he obviously doesn't CARE...

I'm confused as to why Secretary Rumsfeld has a semi-annual announcement that he's not resigning. Has that ever been in doubt? Was it in doubt this week?

Gabriel Malor: I'm confused... Maybe this will help clear up your confusion a bit: The Breaking Point, 09/29/06
In still another poll (Harris poll) showed that only 20% of Americans are "still confidant that US policies in Iraq will be successful". ... There is no good news from Iraq. It's all bad. The magnitude of America's defeat is becoming clearer and clearer with each passing day. Rumsfeld's cheery propaganda campaign has fallen on hard times and will have no effect on the wars' final outcome. The problem is the policy; it is untenable and will require a thorough overhaul. We should expect to see dramatic changes following the elections. The Iraq Survey Group, steered by committee-chair and Bush family friend James Baker, will release their findings right after the November balloting. Judging by their guarded comments, big changes are ahead. Perhaps, the troops will move to the perimeter and let the Iraqis kill each other in a full-blown civil war. Whatever transpires, the first phase of the Iraqi fiasco is nearly over. The Bush administration will be compelled to protect its interests while limiting the exposure of its troops. They may choose to minimize their activities to bombing raids and counter-insurgency operations, further destroying the threadbare fabric of Iraqi society. Security is not important. Lives are not important. Only oil and the people it enriches are important.

Great news. By the time he and Bush git done winnin' da 'Wah on Tehhah' it will be crystal clear how totally bankrupt they and the party and the 'conservatism' they represent truly is. 'Course some of us might be dead but as T. Jefferson said:
'The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.'
If OBL gets D.C. then the 'tyrants' part of that quote will be taken care of.

Of course he won't resign. Bush/Cheney can't afford the 3 ring circus that the confirmation hearing for his successor would become.

Suits me. As long as he's around he can serve as the proxy for all that's wrong with this bunch of thugs. Even if the Democrats don't get both or even one of the houses of Congress this year, things are going to get worse and worse for the administration, and we'll at least have a name for all that's wrong. That name will be Donald Rumsfeld.

Bush "reiterated his support"? He didn't by chance say "heckuva job," did he?
