Beating Atrios to the punch:

The chairman, Senator John W. Warner of Virginia, expressed particular concern that Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki had not moved decisively against sectarian militias.

"In two or three months if this thing hasn't come to fruition and this level of violence is not under control, I think it's a responsibility of our government to determine: Is there a change of course we should take?" Senator Warner said.

What's the rest of the "Broder independent center" Party (McCain, Graham, Lieberman) have to say about this? Hey Joe, isn't this emboldening the "terrorist bloggers" or something? Or maybe I should be asking Broder that question?

    Two to Three months? Hmm isn't that immediately AFTER the election. It is perfectly clear the course is going to change in spite of Bushbag and the Neoconvicts.

    The only 'solution' to war is escalation, now known as the 'Powell doctrine' which is based upon the philosophy of the most craven liar this side of Condi Rice... that is why Kissinger has been a consult all this time.

    I think this time frame is more of a full Rove than one half a Freidman. When the Republicans are the incumbent party, a full Rove declares "it is critical for the country to support its leadership until the upcoming elections are behind us."
